Gobinda makes more sense than most other answers so far, since the clues are written in the first person. No correct guesses so far though.

    Commander Carter?

    No

For the avoidance of any doubt, as always the wording of my clues is very carefully chosen and very deliberately cryptic. You have all the information you need to solve this one. Good luck :-)

    Boris Grishenko (GE)?

It is indeed Boris, well done!

Can you (or anyone) explain the cryptic element of either clue?

As soon as I saw Boris I thought it was so obvious! Well done @mirandafrost.
  • So here's my riddle:
    I deny an action publicly.

Belatedly, the explanations for these two clues:

    1. I so badly need to mess around with her big norks...

This is a British-style cryptic crossword clue, so unless you're an aficionado it probably went over people's heads. The letters of I SO arranged "badly" and messed around with HER BIG NORKS will give you BORIS GRISHENKO.

    2. ... but to say I'm given the cold shoulder would be putting it mildly.

The more obvious reference to his lack of success with women and his eventual demise leaving him with more than just his shoulder feeling cold.

    Thanks, Tokoloshe. :)

I am now guessing: Elliot Carver?
  • No, it's not Elliot.

    I'll add something:
I deny an action publicly and
    I only show up briefly.

OK, but please I think we need more clues ...

    I'll guess: Dikko Henderson

    More clues definitely needed.
  • No, it's not Henderson
  • I'll add something:
I deny an action publicly and tongue-in-cheek,
I only show up briefly and
    I am not named
I hope this helps a bit...
