    Thatcher from FYEO?

    Other clues would really help.

Guardsman in TLD pre-titles who shouts "Here hold on, you're dead!".

I haven't got anything better than that. The clues are very vague.

    Is it my turn now?
  • None of them, sorry. Ok, I'll add some more clues... I hope that you can guess it right now. :)
I deny an action publicly and tongue-in-cheek,
    I only show up briefly,
    I am not named,
Many people know my, but not personally and
A whole country can see me (nearly) every day

    M?
  • No. M is named and a whole country can't see M (nearly) every day. Or do you see M every day? ;)

    M is not his/her name.

And by Country I was thinking that he/she sees distinguished members of the Government on a daily basis, the people who run the country (such as the PM and the Minister of Defence), thus "a country". Tenuous, but a guess as good as any.
  • M is not his/her name.
I know! But all the different M's had names. The new M's name for example is Gareth Mallory. The M before him was Barbara Mawdsley, the first one was Miles Messervy, ...

The M in Skyfall, CR and QoS is called Olivia Mansfield, I believe, and the M in the Brosnan era is Mawdsley.

Another guess- The female presenter at Elliot Carver's speech?
  • No, it's not her. But you get closer... :)

The TV presenter who mocks Elliot Carver's failed channel launch. "Sorry Elliot, but we didn't do it."
  • Yes, Tokoloshe! That's right! Congrats! :)

Get your thinking caps on, here we go...

    1. Our asylums are full of people who think they're a spy like me.

    2. I provided some nice ham.

    3. My name has recently been released.

    Good luck :)

Neither of the above. Extra clue:

    1. Our asylums are full of people who think they're a spy like me.

    2. I provided some nice ham.

    3. My name has recently been released.

    4. I had an agreement to marry my squeeze. Til death do us part?

    Neither of those.

    Max Zorin?

    Not Zorin.

All the information is there if you study the clues. As usual the choice of every word and phrase is very deliberate. What does the first clue remind you of? What has recently been released? What's an agreement to marry your squeeze?

    Incorrect guesses:

    Admiral Farrell
    FRWL pre-title sequence Bond impersonator
    James Bond
    Max Zorin
    Moneypenny
    Red Grant

It reminds me of the sentence Bond says to Dr No: "Our asylums are full of people who think they're Naploeon. Or God."

Many things but I don't know what you mean...

    I don't know... What's a squeeze?
