    Clue number 007 might help...

    1. It might be for the best that you don't get to hear what I'm saying, especially after what you've just heard.

    2. After Bond visits, my future prospects resemble my name.

    3. Sounds as if I'm using that military background to give someone both barrels.

    4. She probably won't accept the offer to return to my place.

    5. The insurance company is never going to believe this!

    6. Don and I had potentially the most costly phonecall in history.

    7. The lack of a band performing this film's song was a huge shock to me.

    8. Bond's instructions have left everything up in the air apart from what should be.

Up in the air? Max Zorin has an airship, but A View to a Kill's title song has a band. I'll say Zorin anyway...

Who would you have expected to perform the theme song @Tokoloshe , that is a mystery to me. McCartney wrote it for the film.

The lack of wings perhaps? On the plane.

I thought he was referring to the singer at the Fillet of Soul but that makes sense!
Anyway, once I figured out who Don was then just about everything else fell into place.

@pachazo has it, as you all know by now :-)

Mr Bleeker from LALD is the answer. All clues relate to the airport carnage and his subsequent conversation with Felix. #1 is specifically referring to Felix saying there's no need for name-calling, which comes right after we heard Mrs Bell's swearing.

He is talking to someone named Don on the phone while Bond is destroying his plane and half the airport, and of course Wings were behind the theme song.

    Onwards, Mr P!

Everyone ready? This Eon character has a name and a voice.

    1) Both the location and the reception were cold.
    2) It was only a matter of time.

    None of the above.

    1) Both the location and the reception were cold.
    2) It was only a matter of time.
    3) I'm not lazy but I don't mind putting my feet up when the moment presents itself.
    4) Efficiency is my middle name. Ask me for something and I'll double it.

    It's not...
    Miranda Frost
    Boris Grishenko
    Gunther
    Kincade
    Elektra King

@Birdleson, that is a most fascinating response but unfortunately it's incorrect. This character does have lines of dialogue. Your ingenuity is impressive though, good sir.

    CR PTS
    2) It was only a matter of time.
Before he was discovered? Before Bond got his 00?
    3) I'm not lazy but I don't mind putting my feet up when the moment presents itself.
His feet fly up as he falls back in his chair while being shot by Bond.
    4) Efficiency is my middle name. Ask me for something and I'll double it.
Bond's second kill (relating to his first), qualifying him for a 00.
    5) I'm a fan of Greek mythology.
John Dryden translated a version of the Greek mythological tragedy Oedipus.

    Wow! Brilliant!

Not sure #3 really works. Most people would mind being shot. It's good to see someone's thought processes anyway. I have no guesses at the moment, still pondering.
