Chisisall, I glad to see Walter Hill in your lists. I'm surprised you put 'Supernova' in there, since Hill disowned it!
Yeah, he directed it, then the studio basically took it away from him & vastly changed it in the editing room. There's still a good movie in there, especially if you watch the deleted/original scenes.

Oh, I love 'Streets of Fire', but 'Hard Times' is my favourite Hill movie. Never get tired of watching it! Hills debut (after scripting 'The Getaway', 'The Mackintosh Man and 'Hickey and Boggs') Bronson and Coburn are marvellous together, and the fights, though a bit stylised, are superb! Great music too!

It's an awesome flick. It came out 2 years after Enter The Dragon, and it's basically an American answer to a Kung-Fu movie. Except with stellar dialogue.

For Quentin Tarantino, in no particular order:

    1. Jackie Brown
    2. Kill Bill Vol. 1/Vol. 2 (he counts these as one film, and so will I)
    3. Death Proof
    4. Django Unchained
    5. The Hateful Eight

Note that his entire filmography is astounding to me, and I've got some unorthodox choices (some seem to agree that Death Proof and The Hateful Eight are his weakest, but I really enjoy them).

Death Proof is the only Tarantino film I disliked.

@Creasy47 , didn't you have The Hateful Eight as your favourite Tarantino flick at one point? I seem to recall you mentioning that somewhere.

I did. Been about a year since I've seen it so I'm not sure if I'd still agree with that assessment, but it definitely ranks highly for me. Off the top of my head, it's a toss up between that and Kill Bill.

I have to watch it again. I only saw it once in the theatre. I liked it but am not so much of a fan of the genre. Does anyone know what Tarantino is up to next?

A film about "the Manson Family".

Now that will certainly be interesting. I'm looking forward to it.

He apparently wants Brad Pitt, Jennifer Lawrence and Margot Robbie in the film. Margot as Sharon Tate.

I think the latter two are who he was looking for to play Tate, so only one will likely appear. I'm hoping for the latter, but I figure he might go with Lawrence since she was initially eyed for The Hateful Eight before Jennifer Jason Leigh was cast.

Might have to rewatch that one this evening now that I'm talking about it.

I would have so much preferred The Hateful Eight if Lawrence was in it rather than Jason Leigh. I think Lawrence could do a very good Tate, especially having seen her in mother!

I hadn't seen JJL in much but I'm not the craziest fan of Lawrence. I loved mother! and Silver Linings Playbook but she's pretty hit or miss for me. I love what I've seen of Robbie's work and think she could pull off a better take on Tate.

The biggest question for me is how Tarantino plans on interjecting his type of humor into an incredibly dark and tragic story.

Nice list indeed. The first three movies are excellent.

Just finished my rewatch of The Hateful Eight. I'd say it makes Top 5 for me of Tarantino's, but I'm not too sure it's my favorite - I think that goes to Kill Bill, Vol. 1 specifically if I had to choose.

I'm with you on the Top Three (though I may switch around your 2 and 3), but then I'd go BARTON FINK, and still be stuck on that final spot.

While I do like Barton Fink it leaves me a bit cold. I also like The Hudsucker Proxy and The Big Lebowski to varying degrees.

There are quiet a few directors that come to mind but if I had to pick I'd go with Christopher Nolan as my top director.

    1) Inception (one of my favorite movies)
    2) Interstellar (another one of my favorite movies)
    3) Batman Begins
    4) The Dark Knight Rises
    5) The Dark Knight
