I also don't think it's the scene from m's flat although it would make sense if bond reappears after months off to say that line then but I hope it's when he walks into the new m's office at the end of the film :)

Guys, as I said before, this thread is not in the Spoilers section. Please use spoiler tags for anything that doesn't appear in the trailers or TV spots, for example anything you may have read in leaked script pages.

It's in the leaked script pages.
M sees his shadow standing in the room and instantly knows it's Bond,
M: Where the hell have you been?
    Bond: Enjoying death.
M turns on the light and we see Bond's face
    Bond: 007 reporting for duty.
Unless of course they repeat the line twice in the film.

"007 reporting for duty" sounds like a great endline! I think it fits there as a glove!

I just had to bump this, as such glaringly obvious things go so unnoticed while others continue to ignore what we plead and instead post blatant spoilers, anyway.

Spoiler tags, ladies and gentlemen. They're there for a reason.

Yes, but as I've said, scripts are constantly revised in production and during shooting, and lines can easily be cut from one scene and used in another to be more effective. This happens all the time. Anyway, we'll all know for sure in 4 weeks.

Its making me strangely guilty to think of all the hard work that the various actors, background 'artists' have put into this film yet I am still MORE excited about the appearance of this door!

Yes. The way it plays in the script that they had at the end of last October was: M "Where the hell have you been?", Bond "Enjoying death." M switches light on. Bond "007 reporting for duty."

I don't like the scene though, its too much of a copy of the one in Casino Royale.

But you are right, that would make a killer end-line. I just hope they've realised that and moved it to the end. Of course, depending on how much the film majors on the theme of Bond questioning his duty and then resolving that by the end, it may make sense to have it in both scenes, so that at the end we realise he has re-committed.

I notice in the 'Word' Tv spot they've now got the '007 Reporting for duty' line as he walks through the padded leather door......

    Good spot @Commander_Skyfall.
That can only mean that Col Sun's assumption that the line has been moved to a more suitable place is correct and that it's no longer in the earlier scene with M in her Chelsea flat. Unless the line is used twice, but that's unlikely.

I am fairly sure that the upcoming trailer will be a modified version of the IMAX trailer. So it can fit in with the new Tv spots, am i right?

I'm still convinced that they just dubbed the line over it and it looks to be said by Bond as he walks through the door.
  • I certainly hope they didn't move the "007 reporting for duty." line to the end of the film. His delivery is just way too...corny to have it work in that context. The way it is in the script, it has this nice tongue in cheek quality, as the man has been missing for months, turns up in M's apartment looking absolutely terrible and the wryly cracking the "reporting for duty" joke. Obviously, M isn't seeing the humor in it.

Silva looks like he really is losing it in that screaming shot! >:)

I just checked the spot again and his lips definately do not match with the *uu-tee* movement. To me it looks like he's saying "ma'am or anything ending on an am/an-movement."]I just checked the spot again and his lips definately do not match with the *uu-tee* movement. To me it looks like he's saying "ma'am or anything ending on an am/an-movement. Also, his expression and "walk" do not work with the line, as to me Bond looks slightly suprised seeing what/who he sees judging from his eyes and the slow, angled pace.

As I said earlier, I'm pretty sure he's saying "M".

When that electronic Bond theme kicks in, I get goosebumps.
