And the last shot of Bond shooting in a circle is just plain Awesome!
There are, simply no words to describe this epicness. Will try and make a clearer one once I'm back home.
I really hope it's the door of
I'd be a bit disappointed if it's just a door in Whitehall, as an homage to M's original door... And it could be just that. Bond's clothes match with the ones we've seen in the Whitehall photos.
Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang ;)
Anyway, isn't MI6 going to explode in SF, so the door will be an ex-door (as will be the DB5 and its gearshift knob after Silva is finished with it)? This means your presently fulfilled hopes will be crashed by the end of SF. Back to the starting line for leather doors in Bond 24.
Unless, of course, MI6 officials had saved "pre-Dench's" door for use in the Underground headquarter, in that case they can add it as "a personal statement" when they have to rebuild the MI6 offices.
Thát's why we're excited about "the" door. It's pure Bond, old-fashioned briefing..
Yes, and who else has a feeing this is the very last scene of the film as Bond enters the new M's office - with the "door" (which I too love as a reference back to classic Bond) - and the last line of the film is; "007 reporting for duty." ???
Craig's 2 Bond films so far have both ended with him delivering a memorable final line, and I'm guessing they are keeping to this in Skyfall.
On the other hand, that would be a great introduction: Panning shot of the Bridge revealing Vauxhall Cross rebuilt, Bond entering the office. He notices M's assistant, says Hi, and goes through the leather door.
"M."
"Take a seat, 007."
"Thank you."
Then, the camera turns around and shows Fiennes? (for those who still think that) behind the desk.
"when do you sleep, 007?"
"Never on the company's time, sir."
"Good. I've got something for you..."
Fade to black - Classic Bond theme starts.
This is pure fan fic, but they might actually pull it off...
I actually like that theory very much, @ColonelSun.
But, as much as I'd like it to be true, I have my doubts. If I'm not mistaken, Bond's wearing the same suit he's wearing in the Whitehall scene. Maybe it's just a door in Whitehall, looking exactly like M's original door as an homage.
How do we know that? Because it was presented that way in the trailer? Bond's mouth movement in the newest TV spot actually match the line. It looks/sounds much more suitable there too.
It's from the script pages some have got hold of.
Actually, I think they took the line "007 reporting for duty" and over laid it on the shot of Bond in the shadows in M's (Dench's) apartment to help convey the basic plot points revealed in the trailer. (The line reading never sounded quite right in the trailer for that moody scene.)
I've got a feeling, knowing what we do about Bond's personal journey in this film, that at the end, he's back and ready to continue as 007 - with a new M - and the film's last line, completing Bond's personal journey is, "007, reporting for duty."
Yes, but scripts are constantly revised, sometimes right up to the moment of shooting, and very often strong lines are moved around, sometimes to other scenes because they just work better there - I do this all the time when script writing, it's very common.
Well, I'd say you'd know so this may have been what happened. Is your full time job script writing @ColonelSun?
I've always had a feeling that the wise Colonel is no stranger to Bond films and those behind them, he may even have a screen credit on his resume ;)
That said, I never cared what M's door looked like. It's so trivial. What's got me excited, being the GF junkie I am, is the shot confirming the earlier shots on the roof on the DB5 being used in this film. You know, the one with the little red button :D =D> ^:)^ [-O<
Calm down. It's Bond firng a gun FFS, he does that every film :))
Show me where Bond fires his ppk like that in any of the 22 other Bond films.
