As of April 1st, thirteen James Bond films will be available to 'watch instantly' via the Netflix online streaming service. With more than 20 million members in the United States and Canada, Netflix, is the world's leading Internet subscription service for enjoying movies and TV shows.

The move to online streaming is a u-turn for MGM, who had previously said that 'crown jewels' such as 007 would not be included in any studio catalog deals.

The 007 movies coming to Netflix streaming on April 1st 2011 are:

Thunderball
You Only Live Twice
On Her Majesty’s Secret Service
Diamonds Are Forever
Live And Let Die
The Man With The Golden Gun
The Spy Who Loved Me
Moonraker
For Your Eyes Only
Octopussy
Never Say Never Again
A View To A Kill
The Living Daylights
Licence To Kill

The 1954 and 1967 editions of "Casino Royale" are already available to stream online.

Knowing Netflix, this will probably only be available in one country. The US, I assume.

Seeing this be released on April 1st, I at first thought it may be an April fools joke.

It's also guess this is US only, I have no idea why the first three films aren't included though. :-S

Netflix is available in Canada and USA (not sure where else) and for a slight monthly fee (8$ in Canada) you can watch anything you want as much as you want). They have movies, and TV series.

CR67 is available on DVD and the latest release does contain CR54 as an extra.
    Here's the copy I have

I wonder how they determined which films would be on there....

I think the best thing about this would be if you want to take a few screencaps, but you don't have your DVD handy...

Sucks that only one of the good Connery's is available. Odd selection of films IMO.

How is this an odd selection of films? It's the first sixteen, minus the first three - which I'm sure will come in time. I reckon GoldenEye onwards are "too recent".

I just find it odd because the first 3 are missing and GE-QoS aren't on there. All of those tend to be the most recognizable films to the general public.

Perhaps that's why the powers that be opted to retain them; those films don't need the exposure. EDIT: Though, admittedly, I'm not sure I see the inherent profit in attempting to make the public view of 007 more well-rounded, as opposed to simply more popular, so I guess that theory doesn't really hold water.

It might be that these are considered more valuable than the rest, and MGM's original reason for not putting *any* Bond films on Netflix streaming was to protect the TV revenues.
