Fassbender in Inglorious Basterds WAS Bond

I dont know if he will ever get the part, but he pretty much got to play Bond in that movie.

The briefing scene with the mike myers and Wiston Churchill was his "M" scene.

The whole tavern scene -he was "Bond" . Not to mention Diane Kruger as Bridget Van Hammersmark was a great Bond Girl in that flick.

I have been reading your guys thoughts on Tarintino and "Casino Royale" and what that would be like.

Honestly, If a QT Bond Movie had a scene like that with that caliber of acting....

I dont know, it might be pretty cool, guys. at any rate-If he some day gets the part-Just remember who CAST him 1st as "BOND"

BTW-great site...Great members on here

Tell me you guys wouldnt love this in A Bond movie

after he lights the cigarette-that is just Connery like Bond.
He has the look (like pierce), plus the acting chops (unlike pierce), and the charisma Dalton lacked, and I thought Dalton was a great actor

Tell me you guys wouldnt love this in A Bond movie.

Waving a cigarette around does not make a James Bond. I hope you arent one of those people on Youtube who are clogging every thread with your Fassbender is Bond stuff. It automatically makes me dislike him.

We have got a terrific Bond at the moment. It looks like a brilliant film come November. Just enjoy the era we are in.

it is my opinion, Bro. It was more than The cigarette

if you dont see a james bond in him, then you dont know Bond as well as you think you do.

I like Craig-he was great In CR-but if this next movie is as bad as the last one, it will be his last.

Yeah, I can understand that, chief. that is how the series lost Dalton for Pierce, so I am sure a lot of Bond fans dont want any jumping of the gun going on.
  • Not to mention August Diel was very bond villianish in this. I think that was QT was trying to do wit this sub-plot of the movie.

I see more of a Bond villain role for Fassbender than Bond himself... I have maintained that he is similar to a Toby Stephens... right now, Fassbender is the fanboy flavor of the month.... i'm not saying he couldn't possibly perform well as Bond - but I just don't see him getting the role... more often than not, it goes to the person no one expects.

I agree with @actonsteve. The more people say 'Fassbender must be Bond' the less I want him to be Bond. We get it, Fassbender is a good actor, he is tall, has brown hair, etc etc.

That's the same logic people had for Brosnan, which didn't work out great (based on the popular opinion, don't get mad Brosnan fans, I'm just generalising here).

Plus, there's this thread for potential Bond actor discussion http://www.mi6community.com/index.php?p=/discussion/comment/126126#Comment_126126

agreed... and the same goes for Nolan directing as well..

  • well, that and a lot of his fans dont want him for it. They think Bond would typecast him and ruin his promising career.

Yeah, I mentioned that about Fanboys and Pierce. Arent we all Fanboys if we are on this site?

Like I said, he might nver get the part, but he can always say he basically played him once. If you all cant see that in That tavern scene, then you need to watch again.

Are you a mod? dont be the thread police, dude.

Welcome to the forum @fassbonderOO7 couple of housekeeping items.
    This is not news.
Multi posting is frowned upon, not just this forum, but it's forum etiquette in general.
And there is a perfectly good thread already discussing any potential Bond #7's.
