@Agent007391, does the pool scene help the story/character progression at all, or does it just seem like a filler?

I think it's in there to set up the possibility of "the Hemocytes are a society on their own", which the ending then pays off. I haven't watched the movie - either version - in a while, so I really don't remember. It's not just filler, though. I do remember it serving a purpose.

Awesome, I look forward to getting around to seeing that version, then. I thought the film was tense and entertaining, but I hate the emotional dog scene. You know what I'm talking about.

When it comes to the dog scene, I honestly feel that the only reason it's emotional is because it's a dog. I understand that the dog has been his only friend and the only thing about his daughter that he has left, but I can't help but feel that if it was cat, people wouldn't care as much.

@Agent007391, that's pretty much it. Any time I spot a dog in a movie where its death may be inevitable, I find myself not really caring who lives or dies, as long as the dog makes it out okay. :))

I'm not so callous that I don't care about whether or not a dog lives, but I do wish that we, as a society, cared more about other animals as well, and not just dogs. Cast Away got us to care about a soccer ball, but that movie that just came out recently with the guy on the boat with the lion (or tiger, or whatever) was just a waste of time.

'Life of Pi'? Never bothered with it, doesn't look like my kind of film. I can enjoy a work of art, but something like that or Terrence Malick films just doesn't get me interested.

Not that I'm being pedantic but it was a volleyball....OK, I am being pedantic ;-)

Sonuvabitch! I thought I was wrong... Still, it was an inanimate object with a face painted on it, it may as well have been a pineapple.

Just a little subdiscussion on I Am Legend. What else can we do until more news about the sh*t reboot comes to light?

Ahhh, toys! The REAL reason to have a reboot of this franchise!

Y'know, the toys look better than the film, probably because I can just buy those and make up my own film.

That chest plate would make a really cool Bullet proof vest prop for my movie. :D

Well that's it then, it looks more like a suit of some type than an actual robotic body as in the previous movies.

It seems like this new movie is taking a page out of the Book of Spaceballs. MERCHANDISING!

RoboCop the coloring book, showing the cover of a Transformers coloring book (I'm not joking, watch Spaceballs and take a good look at the coloring book, it's for Transformers).

It's been years since I've watched Spaceballs. Top film.

I finished this tonight. So much quick fun! Lots of stuff to fix on this kit, but it went pretty fast.

    Now back to real work...

  • I love it! Is that 1/18 scale? I tried that a few years back but all I had to work with was a standard Crown Victoria police car. Looks passable but nowhere near as accurate as yours! Well done!

@Master_Dahark thanks! It's a 1/24 Robocop 2 car model from the nineties I just got on eBay pretty cheap. I had to do considerable detail modification as I wanted the look from Robocop 3 (love the bar code plates).

Here's mine- Just plain old stickers and satin black spray paint. I've always felt pretty 'meh' about it.

It's recently had an overhaul and is now a MD State Trooper car :D

Hopefully that trailer ditches a couple of elements.

    1) human hand
    2) black paint job
    3) the whole movie
    4) human hand
    5) the motor cycle

I just watched the old preview at that site again.... I TRIED to see it objectively.... but it still looks like the Total Recall remake all over again. But people totally new to Robo will probably love it.

There are very few RoboCop fans who can look at that trailer objectively.

Saw 'Bad Grandpa' tonight so I was forced to rewatch the trailer attached to it. Horrendous looking.
