Then ignore the 'references' and let yourself enjoy the film. You haven't seen it yet, nor have you read the script, so how can you judge so much with so little?
It is odd to say the film is a lazy rehash when nobody has seen it in full yet? Quite amusing that CRAIGRULES thinks this! ;)
I advise every Bond fan when they go see Skyfall is to forget the previous 22 films, your hopes and fears, and just enjoy the moment of watching a new James Bond adventure!
You're right, and I do understand that it's highly plausible that even the largest of Bond fans could watch the SF teaser/trailer and be disappointed - somehow - but to criticize the film heavily when you've yet to see it? Incredible.
Which films, exactly?
I don't think it will, and i am sure you have seen lots of different posters on here saying that they hope to see a return to the Bond formula in this outing? So i will assume there will be other fans out there that may not wish that to happen as they liked how CR and QOS were made?
When you care about something so much? I am affraid that the film makers cannot satisfy everyone. But i am thankful we have a new Bond movie to debate over! :-bd
Unless the Thunderball line was a Goldfinger reference. So Skyfall is paying reference to two scenes, one of which was a reference to the first. Reference within a reference. I've confused myself, here's the line:
Pat Fearing: James, where are you going?
James Bond: Oh, nowhere. I just thought I'd take a little, uh... exercise.
Pat Fearing: You must be joking.
In context in the new film it's to Q as it was in GF - I don't think DC had a quick one with Q like TB with PAT.
Despite the different contexts, it is the same line. But if Bond and Q take a joint visit to a steam room, or if Bond massages Q with a mink glove, I'll be a little concerned.
Sorry normally on ajb but lurcking here...
Hmm. Don't remember him wearing any formal wear in You Only Live Twice. I could be wrong though. I think FRWL only has it in the PTS, and that's technically not Bond, so that too.
I follow these rules whenever I experience something new from a franchise. It's only after I've experienced it that I draw conclusions and make judgments.
Ah, a Connery/Craig only fan. Y'know Timothy Dalton also did something different.
Same.
No Goldfinger references, that Fields reference in QOS should never have occured. Some events and incidents of the James Bond series, should just be left alone is all I'm saying
That in your face stuff can get a bit messy.
I wonder what iconic moment they have for skyfall not just past references?
The wink DC does before he shoots someone maybe it.
The painting in the background behind Severine looks like "La femme a l'eventail" (Woman with a Fan) by Amedeo Modigliani.

The picture was stolen in May 2010 from a Parisian art museum.
This might be another nod to Bond history, this time to Dr. No, which featured a then famous painting in his hide-away as well. Since the picture in Skyfall is unfinished,
