Fans I guess were upset that Superman killed, but they didn't seem to mind all the times Reeve's Superman did the same, and worse, in his films.
    Wait- what? Where was THIS?
    @chrisisall, what do you mean?

Let's compare how Reeve Superman and Cavill Superman handle Zod and his soldiers:

Reeve Superman (and Lois) kills people that he knows are no threat to him, no more superhuman than Lex himself.
EXCUSE ME? Who precisely got KILLED in the end of Superman II? In this scene (cut from Theatrical but not from the TV version) Zod, Non & Ursa are alive & being put into an arctic police transport.

    Brady?
    Bueller?
    ;)

Nice one, but alas deleted scenes are deleted for a reason. In the original cut and the Donner cut they are very much dead, though Supes brings them back in the Donner cut by turning back time for the second time in two films.
Funny, even back in 1981 I'd assumed they were not killed, but possibly cryogenically preserved for re-insertion into the Phantom Zone. Then when I saw the TV cut I realized they were headed to good ol' regular prison.

Batman V Superman is a MASTERPIECE.

    giphy.gif

Batfleck in that movie was the Dark knight come to life. WTF happened to him in Justice League?? It kills me to say he was one of the weaker links in that movie
(for the record, I loved Justice League too, but there are obvious problems)

You are very wise, my grievances with JL are that they abandon what they started in MoS and BvS.

    My thoughts as well.

If you feel that it is up for interpretation, then that's fine. For me, though, they were always goners. I actually much prefer the ending to the Lester version of the film, regardless.

MoS is as good as the first two Superman films, if not slightly better for how they managed to effectively bring him into the modern day - something Bryan Singer tried and failed to do.

It’s about damn time we’re hearing some love for MoS & BvS!

I'm firmly in camp MoS. BvS has its moments and some good performances but it's flaws are blindingly obvious to me. Same goes for JL.

Some DC movie Bond equivalents IMHO:

Superman: The Movie- You Only Live Twice
Superman II- The Spy Who Loved Me
    Superman III- Moonraker
Superman IV- [the server has encountered a problem- ERROR- please try again later]
    Batman- Live And Let Die
Batman Returns- Man With The Golden Gun
    Batman Forever- Casino Royale (1967)
Batman & Robin- Operation: Kid Brother
    Batman Begins- Dr. No
    Dark Knight- License To Kill
    Dark Knight Rises- SPECTRE
    Man Of Steel- Thunderball
    BvS- Skyfall
    Wonder Woman- Casino Royale
    Justice League- Diamonds Are Forever

    Some good comparisons...

Superman IV - Die another Day though that's probably unkind to DAD ;))

I've never cared much for Superman IV, but it is leaps and bounds better than Superman III. Superman III is the only Superman movie I actively hate.

There IS a case to be made for that...

He's voiced in the past that superhero movies aren't for him, so I'd be surprised if somebody nabs him for one.

It's a rumour popping up on a few sites and shows, not sure it would necessarily be a good idea though DC need to do something different. After Tom did The Mummy I would not be suprised if he changed his mind with the super hero genre.

This is one of those castings where I never would have thought of it in a million years, but when I now see it, I love it! I had the same reaction when I heard Jon Bernthal was going to be the Punisher.

In the comics I had as a kid, Hal wasn’t ‘young’

If they go with the Lantern Corps minus any origin story it may work, maybe Cavil worked on Tom during Fallout to join the DCU lol

This might just be that one dc film I don't give a rat's @€ about.

I mean, I will probably even go see Aquaman, but not this Shazam. I don't have any connection with the character. How many people even know him. It's going to bomb at the box office.

The suit looks pretty decent. I actually like it a bit more than I expected, but it still does look kind of “cheap”. I also think the lightning bolt should be a bit larger.

I am sure it will look better when we see footage, onset photos of suits often don't do the suit justice. The main thing is the design and colours look in the right ball park, being a fan of the character and Levi I am on board for the film.

I always wanted to date Kristen Wiig. Also but not entirely because it´s amazingly cool to have two consecutive "i"s in your name.

I actually really like Kristen Wiig, but I struggle to see her as Cheetah. I see someone like Emily Blunt or Charlize Theron fitting the character much better. I just have to hope Patty Jenkins sees something in Wiig that I don’t.

I have no idea who this Cheetah is supposed to be, but if Wiig is going to look as on that above foto, I would ask for nothing more.

It's actually pretty spot on casting, as far as looks go

I wonder what they'll do with the costume, because in most versions, she does look a bit silly
