The marketing for this has been indeed great. I really hope this film delivers big time; if not for DC/WB but for the sake of the genre. Can't wait for this!
DC needs a win, badly, and they also need good word of mouth going into WW and especially Justice League, with Snyder still involved.
It'll be interesting to see how things play out, despite the fact that I'm not really excited for any of it.
True, you're definitely right; but for the sake of variety it would be ideal for other studios, especially WB/DC to make creative and financial hit comic book movies too. You're a massive batman fan, more so than I and and I think we deserve to get great movies with beloved DC characters that can come together, something that wasn't done before up until now. I don't just want to see Marvel hitting home runs by themselves when we have the creative means to see pretty much any superhero brought to life correctly.
DC are indeed in desperate need of a win and if WW and SS are huge hits, hopefully JL is the last we'll see of Snyder and WB/DC can really get going. Anyway, fingers crossed.
I've seen quite a few tweets from people who have seen the film and so far things look positive but naturally, I'll take real stock of opinions once the embargo is lifted and more reviews start pouring in before I get excited. I can't take another BvS fiasco all over again.
We live in a age now that the internet can make a film soar or fold. Its unfortunate though a reality, I think the studios must sweat every time a new film is released, it makes sense why there is such a preoccupation with reviving known products. Even if a film stinks studios bank on built in audiences to recoup some money spent. I miss the days I watched a film blind, not knowing anything bar maybe one trailer. BvS I like more than most though I am not blind to the problems, despite having a extra year to make it felt rushed. Hope Suicide Squad kick starts DCCU.
@doubleoego, I am a fan of Batman and the other JL characters, but that's also part of why I'm not excited for anything up ahead. These aren't those characters to me, in any way, shape or form. If Superman and Batman weren't wearing their signature costumes, I wouldn't know what I was watching, and that's truly sad. They took two icons and made them far and away the worst parts of the film, Batman because he was a villain on the level of Lex and Superman because they assassinated his character to scraps, things the Ultimate edition only made worse. They've lost me completely, and it'll take a lot to win any of that trust back from here on out.
Awesome!
At some moments, I didn't know whether to laugh or cry in pain.
It could be a huge spoiler, but it's just the Hot Toys table from SDCC. To be safe however, it's under the spoiler tag:
But still, its probably just a cool looking toy and nothing more.
I'm going to have to be extra careful when assessing this film because tbh, so far things look promising and Ayer is usually solid but; the one thing bugging me slightly is Leto's Joker and with the killing joke coming out in a few days it's inevitable Hamill is going to give yet another iconic performance, which may put Leto at an unfair advantage subconsciously but I'm adamant to do my best to be fair and objective.
