I like Man of Steel, but the color definitely could have used some work.
This video is for you, @CASINOROYALE:
Somebody did a re-colorization of parts of the film to show what more color would do to help its visual appeal. While the edit is a bit too saturated in color for my taste, it does show a more vibrant and engaging movie than what we got, which does have "dark" moments (literally).
I agree about having Elba as John Stewart's Lantern too. He's been my go-to pick from jump. If we are lucky enough to see a GL movie, it should be great. The Corps and all the Lanterns that make it up would give the filmmakers all the elements they needed to do a rousing DC superhero cop film in space. Now that's a mouthful.
Well you're sort of in luck.
The Cyborg movie was canceled a couple months back and he'll now be featuring in the Flash solo movie (which btw is now without a director seeing as Rick Famuyiwa bailed).
As for Elba, who knows. Florence Kasumba is cast as Ayo, a member of Black Panther's Dora Milaje and she not only appeared in Civil War but she also has a role in Wonder Woman and will begin filming the black panther solo film in January.
As for Elba's Marvel connections, I would bet quite highly that Heimdall will meet his end in the third Thor film, and hopefully then he'll be freed up to sign on with DC if the offer is sent his way.
I received SUPERGIRL first season on Blu-ray yesterday. I did watch the first 10 episodes though on TV as I just couldn't wait.
GOTHAM I liked this first season very much. Not sure why so many here find it unlikable. Maybe the second season will not be as good as the first?
THE FLASH becomes my favourite DC TV show ever anyway it seems. And even one of my favourite shows ever.
SUPERGIRL's first 10 episodes were fantastic to say the least, I love it.
ARROW is brilliant anyway, I have seen four seasons so far.
I watched 2 episodes of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW and it looks very promising.
I couldn't be happier anyway with all the DC TV stuff. I never dreamed getting so much quality TV of DC. I thought SMALLVILLE would be THE DC TV SHOW for all times. Now I'm not so sure anymore. I am so happy with all of this.
Now if only the cinematic DC Universe were any good :(
I may not catch this latest round of crossover, until next year's blu-rays come out as I have so much catching up to do.
ie Still have 9 EPs of Arrow S4 to watch. Sucks that Laurel gets killed though. I read ahead. Don't care about spoilers, especially not for stuff that is already out.
I still think she should be Arrow's main squeeze.
I love Felicity as Overlord, but not as Arrow girlfriend. Felicity and Atom make perfect match.
If I'm Oliver Queen though, I think I'd be checking out Nyssa. She seems to have developed a shine for him, after he stepped in and saved her from fight with super A-hole Merlyn.
My blu-ray standby list in this order is
GothamS2
Flash S2
Supergirl S1
Still have to purchase Legends S1.
Arrow I think is best genre tv show since glory days of BSG , Lost and Prison Break.
I only discovered this awesome DC tv universe, when I bought the Arrow, Gotham, Flash, Season 1's blu-ray starter pak and now I am hooked big time.
== As an aside anyone else notice how Arrow-Flash verse, likes to pull in actors from both Prison Break and the more recent Starz Spartacus series.
With Flash-Arrow we not only have Wentworth Miller and Domenic Purcell reuniting, but Robert Knepper also turned up a couple of times as Clock King. That's the Prison Break connection.
Arrow has at least 4 Spartacus actors. Most notably, Manu Bennett as Deathstroke, and Katrina Law. Plus Cynthia Addai-Robinson as Amanda Waller and Nick E Tarabay, who was prominent as a fellow gladiator with Bennett, turned up for a couple of episodes as Digger Harkness.
Just one question. I thought I was the original topic starter of a "DC Comics" topic?
SUPERGIRL has been awful for the most part.
ARROW had a great first three seasons, but has yet to recover from a boring fourth.
Haven't yet caught THE FLASH properly.
Couldn't? Did WB give them evil eyes or something?
I get that, though, as from what I have seen of Arrow, it's Batman lite, and the creators even put Batman's prime villains in the story. It's clear they are trying to make a Batman show with Arrow at points.
Caught up on all the CW episodes last night, happy to say Arrow season 5 is getting back to season 1 and 2 tone. Really enjoyed the last few episodes of Legends of Tomorrow also, there really is too much to watch us viewers are really spoilt with good shows right now.
The producers came to them with a Batman show and WB refused it because they were setting up the latest reboot. WB has this thing about multiple versions of the same character existing at the same time. I wouldn't be surprised if they find a way to kick Flash off the air by the time the Flash movie comes out.
Maybe Highfather. I wouldn't be surprised to see other New Gods introduced in JL considering Steppenwolf is the villain.
The Flash movie is the least interesting of the entire lot, so to hell with it for all I care. Don't care for the character or actor, and it doesn't look like they can even get one director nailed down to work on the thing.
It did seem to be by design.
I love him so much, if Batsy were not the character he is, I would put him on 2nd place on the spot behind The Flash.
As for the TV Show, I freaking love it, a dream come true for me. The actor is perfect for me. As for the BvS Flash, that I could have gladly foregone.
I don't care for Ezra Miller's Flash, comics Flash I'm indifferent towards. What we've seen of him in JL just makes me cringe, like he's trying to be funny and failing while trying so hard. Watching him makes it feel like someone is right in front of my face, prodding their finger incessantly into my eyeball every two seconds. He represents a unique kind of annoyance.
There are still two more episodes to this crossover, and the plot of the Arrow episode worries me, but based on the ending of the Flash episode, it might just work out well. The Arrowverse continues to be my second favorite non-comic DC universe, and it just keeps making me want these writers, directors and producers to take the reins of the DCEU. They know what they're doing, and they're doing it better with a fraction of the budget spread across four shows.
Regardless, while this was the weakest, it wasn't bad at all. I anticipated this episode being a little unconnected simply because it was Arrow's 100th episode, and this probably wasn't the right time for this milestone. I would have preferred the 100th episode be tied more toward Arrow season 5's ongoing conflict, not the crossover. All the returning faces were nice, honestly, though some were underused or outright wasted.
Cisco interacting with the current Team Arrow was quite the highlight, as was the Awesome-by-TV-standards CGI chase scene at the end. Considering how little the Dominators were actually shown in this episode, I can only assume they'll be heavily featured in the Legends conclusion episode.
Two down, one to go. Hoping for a break-the-budget kick ass finale to this crossover.
Teases, that's all. It ultimately served Supergirl that the episode wasn't a featured part of the crossover.
It was a damned good episode of Supergirl, though. Didn't need any crossover elements to it, but they worked well enough.
