What's Britney Spears got to do with anything

So, Craig 44 years of age now, right?, I see no reason why he can't go on for another 2 or 3 releases as Bond and keep up his good work. I surely don't see a repeat of Moore and a Bond film at 57 or anything, but he is able, efficient and capable for a while longer to play Bond. I estimate after Skyfall, he will remain with us for another two releases at least, I am looking forward to it. And if this thread is to be believed, then Craig peaked at Casino Royale, but I expect him to go even better this year with Skyfall, but that's not to say it will be the end. I am content enough so long as Daniel Craig is Bond

Who here is a volunteer on Wikipedia? It's still misquoting MGW, saying Craig is in fact doing a total of 8 films- which unfortunately is not the case as of yet.
  • For me personally I feel Craig hasnt aged well in the four years since Quantum. It may just be the lighting of the shot but in certain scenes during the trailer I felt he looked very "worn". Check out the teaser trailer to Skyfall when he says his "Some men are coming to kill us line".

For me he is is a great bond and the fact that he isnt as suave and manicured as the others works great for his portrayl of the character.

I certainly dont think he has 8 bond films in him though. I dont think any actor that takes the role at 38 would have. I think five is a much more realistic target. Heck they might even bring the fact that he is getting older into the storylines as these are a different narrative to what has gone on before. They could even potentially kill of Craig's Bond and just reboot again.

Yes so for me, no way to 8 but I would feel very sad if he leaves after Skyfall. Craig still has much more to give...

Craig's Bond is SUPPOSED to look ransacked in Skyfall. It isn't Dan aging badly as much as it is EON wanting to convey Bond's personal draining.

He looks pretty good for someone who
just came back from enjoying death.
  • @QBranch I love that line. And the scorpian shots bar is my guess as to where the infamous "evil heineken" will pop up

@0BradyM0Bondfanatic7 as long as Craig doesnt go orange by his last film like poor roger then I'll be happy

For Bond's sake, let's hope it's the beer that has bite.

I think Craig looks very worn out and old in the beard, which probably was the intension. But after shaving (for instance when he says
    "Everyody needs a hobby"
) he looks good and in good age. IMO he is not even close to looking too old, even though he has aged a bit since QOS.
  • I don't think Craigs haircut for SF helps him when it comes to age. Makes him look older than he is I think.
  • @thelivingroyale totally agree.

@007RogerMoore I cant wait to see that how that scene plays out. Gave me shivers that part.

I agree. Most of the trailer actually gave me shivers. I think we are up for something very good. It will be interesting to see a "classic" portrayal from Craig.

Dont get too excited. There might be a few more oneliners, Q, and vodka martinis but don't expect MR.

It will be Craig business as usual. Thank god.

  • It looks amazing. I'm impressed so far. All the talent on board as well. Dont know if you got it as well but
when Silva is shooting that antique looking gun and Bond is watching, it kind of reminds me of the old ones where the villan would show Bond around his hideout and tell him all details about his plan

I love this stuff. I like that they keep things like these but modernize them, instead of copying other franchises altogether.

Atleast it will probably be a step in the right direction. And if the movie is much like the trailer I will be happy.

Second me for hoping we'll never see the likes of a Bond film such as MR, or DAD for that matter. Returning Bond to being Bond and giving Craig the same chances everyone else had with the usual elements is the right thing to do.

Note to EON- PLEASE do not bring back Moneypenny unless you plan to do the right thing there too.

  • I dont feel Moneypenny is needed at all. They seem to have Tanner do all that kind of stuff there now anyway. What would Moneypenny do? Type like in the old ones? What would she need to type now?
And I hope they dont make Eve from SF Moneypenny at the end.
But younger, geekier Q looks good

I want Moneypenny back. She has rarely been "needed" for the script but she adds some humour with her flirting. I really hope she will be back. And Whatwouldrogerdo, I agree that the new Q looks great.
  • Love the little reference seen in the trailer when Q says
"I'm your new Quartermaster and Bond says you must be joking" I saw a little nod to GF there with the ejector seat
  • okay that spoiler didnt work. Apologies.

I love that scene too. BTW, you can edit your own posts. There you can redo the spoiler. Cheers!

I want Moneypenny back but not at all costs. They need a great actress to play it. My dream casting for the role has been Kate Winslet ever since CR came out but I don't think that will ever happen. My alternative was Rachel Weisz but that is definitely not going to happen now that she and Craig got married.

I don't care who plays Moneypenny in the future, as long as she loses her potty mouth of the prior era. If I had a choice, I'd like Romola Garai. Blonde, cute, and I could see her flirting with some class.

She also works with Ben Whishaw in The Hour...

I hope word gets around as Romola Garai is the ideal choice for Moneypenny.

Yeah during the Olympics segment with the queen, he looked just like he did in CR

I like Romola Garai too, I think she's great. But I think for Moneypenny a slightly older actress would be better.

Not really. She's too hot. Bond not hitting that would be completely out if character and just plain dumb for him not to.

Barbara Broccoli has come out and defended casting Daniel Craig:

I think the need to praise Daniel is sort of a defence reaction. Kinda like "well he may not be the ideal casting but he's good enough so fans should stop complaining." That's the vibe I get from her comments but other fans may disagree.

Well, Dalton and Brosnan were a lot about inner conflicts and anxieties.

Yeah, right, that´s why he married Tracy then. This is the same bs the producers were talking when they made CR, pointing out that CR the novel would be Bond´s first mission as a double-oh, when in fact the book gives no clear indication at all.

The whole article reads as if wildly quoted out of context, so I find it hard to interpret much into it at all. Not to mention that no indication is given when or where she said those things. Could have been a year ago, or after the release of CR.
