Is Die Another Day the end of the "classic" Bond timeline?

I've always wondered this - since Casino Royale reboots the series, with the previous film being Die Another Day, is DAD the final film in the original Bond sequence/timeline/series? And does that make Casino Royale, Quantum of Solace, SkyFall, and the ones after that the beginning films of the modern/new timeline?

I see Skyfall as back to modern times as we should be getting a complete Bond now who does Bondian things all the time, and not a rookie becoming Bond. So I would say Skyfall follows DAD, and CR/QOS occurs before Dr. No. Now if they bring back the Camille character from QOS to assist Bond in fighting future QUANTUM plots as has been occasionally rumored, that will really complicate things. Lots of other threads here argue this to death and the truth is no one at EON has offered an opinion of what we should think, so there's no definitive answer for your question.

I would say that with CR reboot, then Bond is a brand new 00 and CR is his first mission. Yes, the timeline is tossed aside as if none of the previous 20 films has occurred. Bond marrying, battles with Blofelf etc all of that is in the future.
Reboots just toss the previous timeline to the winds...that may sound calous but it is what it is. IMHO

That depends on SF, it depends on Q. If he's Major Boothroyd, then I think it's a new timeline. But if he's a new guy, like the Cleese Q, then it could be set after DAD.

Same with Moneypenny when they decide to bring her back. If she's just Moneypenny, then it could be after DAD. But if they introduce her as a new character, then I think it's a rebooted timeline still.

I think DN to DAD is a floating timeline, and CR to SF (or maybe further) is a new floating timeline.
