She got rave reviews from the "judges" despite singing in the wrong key(!) Have they ever heard Adele sing this song? Answer: No.

As discovered in this thread ITV once again have the rights to every Bond film except Skyfall - which they'll get one year from now - the first showing is:

    Quantum Of Solace on ITV2:

    Thursday 7th November - 10:50pm - 12:55pm

    Friday 8th November - 9:00pm - 11:10pm

    Thank @beaugreen007 and @WillyGalore.

This will be the first showing of Bond on a free-to-air channel since Friday 28th September 2011:

Judi Dench is back on The Graham Norton Show tomorrow from 10:35pm - 11:20pm on BBC One. This is her fourth visit to his sofa and she'll be discussing Philomena. The word 'Oscar' has also been thrown around.

It's such a shame she will not know how work on the next Bond is going. Unless she's still in the loop, somehow.

Yes, I think she was an early source on most of the Bonds she was in, if I recall correctly.

Hello from Yonkers, New York. My name is John and I hope to come in here to share and read many of your posts. My first media alert was posted yesterday on the main page to inform the site about a James Bond marathon playing on THIS TV channel in the USA. 3 movies were played twice all day, starting with FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE, DIAMONDS ARE FOREVER AND MOONRAKER. I'm assuming they will broadcast more 007 adventures throughout the month. Take care and cheers. 'Now move you, muthers." from Live and let die.

ITV ended up spoiling the bond franchise with too many repeated showings, unlike the early days when the series was carefully stretched out, hence the wonderful record breaking viewing figures.

That was in part due to the fact that, up until 1982, we only has 3 television channels to choose from, hence the high viewing figures. Those days of 20-30 million viewers are long gone.

I'm so glad that Sky TV have lost the rights. Unless maybe the film is a new release, Bond should be available for everyone to enjoy for free as it is in many other countries. I always hated the way 24 and Prison Break were only available on Sky UK. In other countries it was shown on free channels. Ones you don't have to pay for each month.

ITV shouldn't be showing an abundance of repeats though. They should just show one James Bond movie per week in chronological order. When they're finished, take a year's break, then start over again.
  • In the states, it changes from channel to channel, so THIS TV channel is showing some bond movies, so far. I get the channel for free, using a flat all directional antenna that picks up our local channels. So cheers, mates.

Not really a 'TV Alert' but this is the way the world is going...

Netflix subscribers in the USA can now stream the latest James Bond film, 'Skyfall', as part of the online package.

    <a href="http://movies.netflix.com/WiMovie/Skyfall/70243459">Click here to watch online</a>.

The 2 hour and 23 minute film is rated PG13 in the USA for 'intense violent sequences throughout, some sexuality, language and smoking'.

Poor showing. Two is better than zero and maybe next year they'll air Skyfall over Christmas. One can dream.

I yearn for a return to the christmases when a Bond film was shown immediately after the Queen's Speech. Usually Moonraker or OHMSS. Oh happy days!
