Wow, I never thought about how cool that would be Wiz, thanks for arranging it and I hope you get a copy too ;)
Alas my British passport automatically precludes me from getting one but having just called EON they say any US citizen living in the UK just needs to go to the US embassy in London with some proof of ID and they will give you a free Bluray of the film, a 40 inch plasma with Dolby to watch it on, a complimentary bottle of Bollinger, an Aston Martin for a week and free sex with a Bond girl of your choice.
You are on a roll, mate. =))
You Uncle Tom. You do realise EON are laughing at you right now as they pocket your money? If you had to go down this route at least give it a few months to come down a bit rather pay full price.
I don't mind EON taking my money. They can use it to help make more Bond movies ;)
Seriously, I probably won't get it but I do want to see Brosnan laughing at DAD again :))
Hopefully HMV will have it (although are they selling new releases now?) and then when they are too weak to defend themselves, like SPECTRE, I will strike (when they slash it to around the £3 mark a week before they go under).
I'm part of the way there. I work at a well known rival retailer and get 10% staff discount on all goods. EON will never get me!! Hahahahaha!!
"Every little helps" ;)
Surely Tesco won't stock EON? That's the real tragedy about HMV going. Tesco and ASDA are fine for the big releases and are cheaper but if you want anything a bit niche forget it as they only stock about 50 of the biggest selling titles at one time. I remember picking up the Killing Fields, Oldboy and Downfall (three fantastic films) at HMV having never heard of them before. Never in a million years would you see titles like that in a supermarket.
I now hold you partly responsible for the demise of HMV Bain and with it the death of the great British High St and from there the chipping away of our national identity as we descend into an ever deeper Americanised morass of commercialisation, obesity and soporific TV to keep the pathetically educated masses content.
A lot of blood on your hands there Mr Tesco! Youre doing what Hitler and Blofeld never could - bringing the country to its knees. Possibly. ;)
And just saying you're a mere shelf stacker or whatever won't cut any ice with me Mr Bain. History has shown 'Just obeying orders' has been proven to be no defence. I'll see you in Nurmeburg.
Just before you accuse me of exaggerating about the state we are in I was talking to a young who has just started working at our place. He's about 20 and for want of a better term an average working class bloke. The name Nelson cropped up and he had literally never heard of him! He said 'you mean Nelson Mandela? I've heard of Nelsons column though. Wasn't he king when we fought against France or something?' - which obviously nearly got him slapped.
I asked wtf they teach them in history these days and he said 'The holocaust, Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela.' So no Wellington, Nelson, Churchill just things that have absolutely no relevance to this country. Quite literally political correctness gone mad. Is it any wonder kids today have to pride in the country when we teach them to be ashamed of it by ignoring the people who made it great?
I hope you are proud of yourself Mr Bain.
That said; I'm off to Tesco now as I've got a 50p off voucher which expires today for Tesco Finest soup which is currently also retailing at half price. Cashback! You have to be up pretty to outfox the Wizard Tesco! 2 quids worth of soup for 50p - I think I know whos winning. I'll probably end up spending a tenner on other stuff but thats stuff I need - they most certainly havent lured me into spending more than I was going to anyway. No sir I'm way too clever to fall for that one!
If its any consolation I'm not a shelf-stacker. I work the tills (that's probably worse because I'm authorising a variety of DVD purchases - you must view me as a serious cog in a machine of extermination now :-( ).
The ironic thing is I love HMV and like you used to pick up a lot of random purchases there (including Downfall funnily enough). I have nothing against them personally and it wasn't a deliberate thing against them when I picked up the application form. They were just available for me when I needed them - made the same enquiry with HMV and they weren't. So HMV let me down :(
I'm saving my Tesco Clubcard points at the moment for when Skyfall comes out :D
The young chap had never heard of Nelson?? Ha-ha!!
And I'm sure most young people have heard of Churchill. Ohh yess!!
Tell your boss I'm suing him. I was sent to hospital after eating one of your burgers. Luckily my condition was stable.
Urgh!! Good to hear you're not feeling quite as horse now.
Oh dear Is this the level we are at these days?
Reminds me of Knowing Me Knowing You :))
It only cost me £10 which is fine by me! Especially as i have not seen it!
I've only found a copy on DVD in the pal version, which is UK.
Little help please? 8-|
Has anyone checked Amazon?
Yep. Two return results, both for instant videos.
No problem. Post here if anything changes and they do end up releasing it on DVD or blu-ray in the States.
I was wondering if it had something to do with "rights" and being here in the US, because even here on YouTube we commonly get "Sorry you are unable to watch this video here in the United States due to copyrighted material" which is lame.
