    I could swear we've had this thread before, but I guess it must be a million years old so whatevs.

    Good to hear he's still interested as he's one of my top likely picks for the next Bond actor (unless they go with an unknown)

    Superman or not, Cavill would make a great Bond
    *even though he would be the first Bond actor younger than me and I'll be eternally jealous.....

    Would have to see more of his movies before i could offer an opinion? Assuming Dan does 5 movies? Cavill would be then late 30's? So the potential is there? But recasting is a while off yet i think? Especially with Writer deals already struck for Bond 24 and 25. That suggests to me the length of DC's tenure?

    I can't see Craig doing more than 4 or 5, but if Superman is a big hit then he might not be able to do it anyway.

    I doubt Cavhill will ever be Bond. I think he was Campbell's choice, not Broccoli's.

    I remember seeing him in a Woody Allen flick and thinking he was comically posh. Like a stereotype of a posh English boy.

    If 'Man of Steel' sets off and he manages to become bigger than he is now, then Cavill will never step into the shoes of James Bond.

    Not even thirty years of age. A bit too young for me. I'd ideally like a Bond actor between 35-45 for the part, although Lazenby did make his debut in '69 about the same age as Cavill

    Doesn't look quite right for the Bond part either. It's just something, I look at the man and tell myself he's maybe not appropriate. I don't know much about him either, except that he's a fairly well established British actor, but for any reason above, just not someone I'd like to see as James Bond. At least not for the immediate future, maybe in a few years, when he's older, he may have grown on me

    I agree. I just find myself utterly underwhelmed at the prospect of him as Bond.

    I have only seen him in one film and he was v young. Doesn't seem to have any edge. Bit bland. But you never know.

    Check out 'Immortals.' He was the opposite of bland in that, and he's incredibly furious when his action scenes hit the screen.

    The reality setting of Batman has been the flavour of the last 6 or 7 years in movie making.

    However, has there been an upturn again with the Avengers with a more comical style? Man of Steel has the flavour of Batman, now HC might be asking the question is it about 3 years too late?

    Has he got cold feet, does he know the movie (although well made and will be critically received) will not be welcomed with open arms from the fans?

    Either way, I thought the last Superman was quite good and funny enough that style of Superman might be now in vogue.

    SR offered nothing new. Same old Lex Luthor doing his usual nonsense ands to top it off, they gave superman a kid! I mean wtf!? Sure the kid was refreshingly not annoying but it just felt like a massive dump.

    Anyway, Cavil would have made a fantastic Bond and quite frankly his age wasn't a problem. I know guys in their early to mid 20s who work for the secret service and Cavil also has that hybrid Dalton/Brosnan look about him face-wise. Massive missed opportunity there but we do gave Craig for which I am eternally grateful.

    SR had a lot of problems, some that I have mentioned already. The kid plot line was interesting, but not presented well.

    *Kid throws piano*

    "Wow...what did you-did you just...HOW EVER DID YOU THROW THAT PIANO?! THERE IS NO WAY YOU ARE THE SON OF SUPERMAN, THE ONLY PERSON I KNOW OF WHO CAN DO THAT. NO, YOUR FATHER HAS TO BE SOMEONE ELSE..."
