He also seemed like a genuinely lovely bloke - in fact, so many horror movie creatives seem to be gentle souls, Very sad to hear of his passing.
Martin Landau was a terrific actor. He had one of those faces you never forget. Excellent performer. May he rest in peace.
That's right he was in Columbo wasn't he. Well spotted.
"I don't suppose it would do any good to show you some identification. ID, driver's licence"
"they provide you with such good ones"
I think one has to be a gentle soul to write horror. You need to have empathy to create believable characters.
Watched him in Mission: Impossible TV series and later Space: 1999. Always liked him as an actor, sad to hear of his passing.
Strange because I thought the same thing.

I have seen and enjoyed The Talons of Wen Chiang. And he was a great part of that episode's success. He'll be missed by all Whovians.
I thought that too a few years ago after watching him again in Columbo: Double Shock where he plays twins! I looked him up on Wikipedia and was pleasantly surprised to find he was still alive!
Yes, I remember my friend showing me some of them, the first one and the 1979 one I think. The first one was B/W and ended with the police coming in and shooting the black man who was the hero of the piece. They mistakenly thought he was one of the zombies. Quite a powerful ending!
The unfortunate problem there is rights issues. No company owns more than one Romero Dead movie except Anchor Bay, who own Dawn and Day. Now, because of Night's status in public domain, anybody can produce a Blu-ray of that. Best you could get is Night, Dawn and Day together.
Anyway, I watched a Romero I've never seen before. A collaboration with another legend, and happily still with us, Dario Argento: Two Evil Eyes.

I didn't know her at all, but still....
And in other news, french writer and historian Max Gallo died this week, aged 85 :

In The Independent on Barbara Weldens, aged 35:
One report suggests she may have been electrocuted.
If so, that's unbearably sad. Poor lady.
I liked that band. RIP, Chester.
Apparently he and Chris Cornell were good friends, and unfortunately enough, today would have been the latter's birthday.
RIP Chester.

Wel, I'll regret him, but 88 is not a bad age to go.

I loved him as an actor.
Damnit ! I loved her in the series. But in France, given that in those days Doctor Who was unknown, we knew her as the niece of Peter Brady in The Invisible Man. Cancer didn't leave her a chance. That's too sad, really.
