On a sidenote, I think his character was meant to be Belgian since he was described as being from the Brussels underworld and having a record in the Namur prison. That makes Locque one of the few connections to my country in the entire franchise.
Sad isn't it? You're right though, and I'm not too proud of Patrick Bauchau in AVTAK.
I don’t think Bauchau did a bad job, he just wasn’t given a lot to do.
He fairs a lot better in Argento’s Phenomena (also with Donald Pleasance).
Anyway, time for Bond to come to Brussels or Bruges I’d say ;)
There was also the stuntman who got killed. The film was cursed.
Indeed...I think I found 4 altogether linked,but I cant find the thread now..annoying.
Paolo Rigoni. He is mentioned in SKOH or the Taschen book.
Bruce and Brandon Lee on the other hand......dunno about curse but certainly unlucky :(

Maybe it was in the old forum, KTBEU, Barry? I had a look through all of your topics on this new forum of MI6 and I can't see this one either sadly.
I have known about these suicides for many years. Can't recall exactly how I found out about them, but there it is.

Rest in Peace and thank you for the great memories.
Sad news indeed, The Spy Who Loved Me being my introduction to Bond, and a genuine Bond classic.
Thank you for your wonderful contribution to the world of James Bond, rest in peace Mr.Gilbert.
He directed three of the biggest and most outlandish Bond films and they are the ones that the public consciousness most associated with James Bond. That will assure his legacy in the history of the Bond films.
R.I.P. Lewis Gilbert, I will watch TSWLM in tribute when I finish work tonight.
