RIP Robert Forster. He was the greatest thing in Jackie Brown.

My favourite QT film and a big part of that is the quiet effective chemistry between Forster and Pam Grier, boy that Delfonics scene must be one of the best of Quentin's career.

    Will be sadly missed.

    RIP Max Cherry

Absolutely!!! That’s what I will forever remember him for, above anything else. Robert Forster as the terrorist leader Abdul! Quite a savage performance too!! I still recall the other terrorist (the very hairy one) was named Mustafa! Funny the things you remember after all those years :)

Forster also guested twice (as 2 different characters) on Chuck’s action show WALKER TEXAS RANGER!!

RIP Stephen Moore. Hitchhiker's is one of all my all time favourite sci-fi works. Marvin was such a funny character. Stephen Moore also played Adrian Mole's father in two tv series.

As mentioned above, Robert Forster was one of the stars of The Black Hole. Film features a great score by John Barry and a rather weird ending.

Just learned that one of my favourite french singers (and actresses), Marie Laforêt, has passed away, aged 80 :

Here's one of her most famous songs :

And one of her most famous scenes (from the movie Les Morfalous) with a killer (litterally) punchline :

Sad to hear that. He always seemed like such a nice guy. One of Ireland's finest I would say.

Used to enjoy the Late Late show. His interview with Billy Connolly was hilarious!

'Gaybo' did some memorable interviews. My own favourites were the ones with Billy Connolly and also Peter Ustinov!
  • re: Robert Forster. Sorry, I've been away for a while. One of his early credits was a TV series called Banyon. I only post this video because of a coincidence. The typeface for the title is the same used for No Time to Die.

Raymond Poulidor has passed away, age 83. He was a French professional bicycle racer, and was known as "The Eternal Second", because he never won the Tour de France despite finishing in second place three times, and in third place five times. Despite his consistency, he never once wore the yellow jersey as leader of the general classification.

    Indeed :

In those years, despite (or maybe because) never winning the Tour (although his other career achievements have been quite respectable), he was the most beloved professional cyclist in France.

Virginia Leith has died. For fans of 1950s/1960s grade C movies she was mostly known as “Jan in the Pan” from the 1962 film, “The Brain that Wouldn’t Die.” has died. She also started in “A Kiss Before Dying” and Stanley Kubrick’s first film: “Fear and Desire.”

So sorry to hear of Terry O’Neill’s passing last night. I’m sure we are all familiar with his photographs of the Bond cast amongst others.
