Yes, that is indeed rather spooky. I saw 'Baby Doc's' obituary in The Times and I am writing something at the moment that links in with 'Papa Doc' Duvalier and Tom Mankiewicz's LALD.

My sympathies, @CraigMooreOHMSS. I can't imagine what I would be feeling if I lost my best friend. The important thing is to remember the good times you both had and let those memories live on. Also know that we're all here for you, should you ever wish to talk. :)>-

I hope that your friend lived a happy life in the short time he was given.
Very sorry for your difficult loss. I'm sure there were many happy memories that were had and it's a shame that more were not had. Hold on to the good times.

One of my all time favorite shows who the level of Morse and Lewis. The shows sudden demise still gave hope of future one off TV movies. But without Dalziel it does not make any sense at all.

I didn't know him, nor do I follow cricket, but this is incredibly tragic, indeed; he was way too young. RIP, Mr. Hughes.
Talk about a freak accident. That's one of those sport injuries almost too strange to believe.
My favorite player on my favorite NHL team had a freak scare like that a few weeks ago (as if the guy hasn't already had a hard enough run with injuries and worries). He was waiting to see if his teammate would pass to him or shoot, when he got shoved from behind. As soon as he hit the ground, his teammate shot the puck, only it hit him in his back, right between the shoulder blades. He was taken off ice and played just a few days later, but that's one of those scary moments where an inch or two difference can really hang between life or death, much like this. So unfortunate it was the latter case.
That's what is so strange and tragic about these kinds of things. You'd never think a hit to the neck or back like that could actually be fatal, and when those kinds of deaths do happen it just opens your mind up to how much athlete's put themselves on the line and how easy it can be to die when the right spot is hit hard enough. Crazy.
Effect the poor bowler.
