So, I've just seen it, and it seems that the film is apparently gonna have flashbacks? Or are the rumours about the film being about time-travel true?

Yes there’s definitely a sequence set in WW2: we see Nazis and Indy disguised in German uniform. At a guess that’s the opening of the film.
  • Glad to hear the trailer is inspiring confidence. After doubting this for so long, particularly with Spielberg not involved, it’s nice to start getting excited about Indiana Jones again.

I’m more excited about it than I expected to be. The original trilogy, all of it, is absolutely amazing to me, basically the best adventure movies ever as far as I’m concerned. All near and dear to my heart. And though I don’t expect this one to top any of those, I feel like it has a shot to recapture some magic. In any case, as far as I’m concerned, there’s not much to lose going for it one last time after KOTCS, which already tainted the track record for me. If it beats that substantially, I’ll be more than happy enough. Let’s hope they give Indiana Jones the finale he deserves.
  • Question: Are we allowed to talk about the trailer without spoiler tags? Or are details of it still considered spoiler territory? I don't care either way - just asking.

    I don't know...

Which rumour is it that is bs?
One of the rumors mentioned in the video is that Toht is seen as one of the Nazis in the WWII opening sequence. But that's clearly made up because Toht died at the end of Raiders, which was set in 1936.

Here's the transcript for the trailer for those who couldn't understand what they said:
  • Hopefully Disney will release it soon in full 4k glory, but I like what I see :D

The trailer leaking gives me hope that we'll get the official version sooner rather than later.

I doubt they’re going to publish the trailer before they give the film a name, sadly! :)
I’d say we’ve got a few weeks yet: either until Black Panther or Avatar.

It's possible. It's certainly happened before and they needn't have the official title worked out yet to do so. We got the JW4 trailer months back and it still doesn't have an official title yet (even in the trailer, it's simply listed as John Wick.)

Indy directly mentions his time riding with Pancho Villa from the Young Indiana Jones Chronicles in Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The series is canon, although the bookends feature Old Indy may not be since they were removed from the DVD release of the series.

Everything is canon until it isn’t is the rule I go by. Good example is how the video game The Incredibles: Rise of the Underminer could have been treated as such, until the official film sequel rendered it non canon many years later. Or, just use your favorite head canon x)

What would happen if you run into something that is in direct conflict with something else that's happened?

Anyways, agreed, I just go with whatever I decide is best in my own head. It's how I've determined that Sean Connery played Andrew James Bond (who went by James) and did his missions, retired with Monique to Skyfall (and brought along his trusty Q-DB5), had a child who took his middle name (Craig), was killed by the Russians while climbing in their Operation Steel Cartridge, and his son went on to join the same secret service his father did.

I think in this stupid canon, all the actors sans Craig play the same Bond character. No codenames, but two different James Bonds (a treat for those who feel the Craig era went too far beyond the Bond they enjoy).

    ;)

Then the cosmos explode! XD yes, I generally think of each Bond as the same guy pre-Craig, or at least that the first 5 all went through the same life in different timelines basically.

My brain just had to work out a reason for that DB5 in Skyfall…

Lol to me the addition of the GF gadgets and the change to right hand drive make that not work for me :))

That DB5 was left at the Nassau airport.

But if that works for you that’s great; that was my point about FoxRox post, everyone will have their own ideas for what’s happening in some of these places and there’s no problem with that.

Yeah DB5s are worth so much that you don’t leave them at airports! Especially when your company can come up with a good reason for owning them themselves ;)
Swapping the wheel over isn’t a biggie either, and Q’s quite used to adding gadgets :D
