They already jumped the shark with Inner space aliens, I think time travel is more plausible lol
At this stage I just want great Indy scenes and action.
My strategy will be to watch KOTCS just before I watch DOD lol
I see what you’re doing there; before seeing the next Bond, I’m going to watch SPECTRE.
We probably could have possibly had more Indy movies. But Lucas was so hung up on Crystal Skulls and Aliens, that it seemed with reluctance, people came back. As for future Indy stories, it wouldn’t be hard to James Bond the character. There’s always a artifact or army that Indy could take, real or fake. Hopefully, if all goes well, Disney/Lucasfilm will take this into action. Marvel comics could be a good place for the character to start.
Sure fire way for the film not to be disappointing, joking aside I like what I see in the DOD trailer and if anything it will be visually stunning. I trust Mangold, I have liked his work since I first watched the excellent Identity.
Mind you it’s more Agatha Christie then horror (I am shocked she was not given credit as the film is clearly And then there were none)
I thought Rey was a brilliant character. People are getting way too political here with all this woke talk etc. They are only films!

There were certainly a lot of similarities to And then There Were None, its difficult to make any kind of whodunit without it in some way reminding the audience of a Christie story.
ANYWAYS, on topic with Indy, I’m very hyped for the product. Based on the little we know Phoebe’s character sounds plenty interesting and very much not a Mary Sue type! I also am eager to hear more about the game; a great open world one for that and Bond would be a dream come true!
I blame Spielberg. He was attached for many years but didn’t seem to be terribly invested in making the film. Look how many times this film got pushed back because he wanted to do another film. Once Spielberg left and Mangold took over, the production accelerated.
However I will maintain hope
I can sympathize with that. I'll keep some optimism for now but this is clearly not the thread to share any disappointment in what we've seen so far.
Also cannot express my gratitude to all involved for not naming the film “Indiana Jones” or “Indy” and following the classic template instead, I like DoD as a title a lot. As a huge Indy fan it’s amazing to see that this film is on its way for real after years of development hell. I can’t wait.
I really wanted to like this trailer, but it's wall-to-wall crappy CGI. And DIAL OF DESTINY sounds like a phone sex hotline.
Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything but a big CGI-loaded event. Had modern CGI been around in the early '80s, I bet Raiders and Temple had made extensive use of it too. Spielberg and Lucas seemed more than happy to jump on that wagon in recent times.
If I made films, I’d go with practical over CG as much as possible. Even with all the “advancements” of CG, practical still looks better 9/10 times for me, especially concerning organic creatures.
Yeah, for myself I think he certainly is too old, and looks it to be honest. In some bits he's looking quite frail. But it is what it is, I can get over that, and I want a new Indy movie.
