She's certainly talented. I didn't mind her robot in Star Wars like some, I thought it was silly enough of a premise (robot uprising) to be funny, in the current climate. But that was just a role she was acting, not sure how involved she was in its ideation. Her other stuff is great, too. I think she was also involved in Killing Eve season one, which is good tv as well.
What seemed dumb about it? She's certainly affable and at times goofy. Either it makes you laugh or it doesn't, but I found the show to have some very intelligent, adult humor.
Yes that robot hangs around her neck a bit: all of these idiot YouTube guys who only watch Star Wars and Marvel think that's what she's actually like because that's all they've ever seen of her and don't seem to be able to separate acting from reality(!), hence as soon as she was involved with Bond we got all of those '007 goes woke' headlines. But she's an excellent writer and performer. I think she's a really fun choice for this Indy film.
I've got nothing against Shia Leboeuf as a performer, I think he does a decent job in Skull in that he's not actively annoying, and some actors would be. But I can see PWB holding her own against Ford a bit better to be honest. And what's refreshing is that this one it seems that mostly it's just the two of them (possibly a mystery kid for part of it too), rather than the huge gang he had following him around in the last one.
If the rumour is true, she'll be adding Doctor Who to that list as well.
I hope better. That ending of TG:M was embarrassingly cringe.
We must have seen different cuts.
Yes I saw that one too; in The Sun? Absolutely not true I'd say; not least she's signed up to create content for Amazon!
Agree with you about Temple: I love the Crusade score like any right-minded person ( ;) ) but the fire was already ebbing by then I'd say- it's wonderful, but the sheer energy and vim of ToD has gone, replaced by more classical-ish fiddly bits.
I would love though, if he segued into the end credits of this one just as he did with ToD though: the Raiders March kicking up a key and really getting into gear. I love that ending.
I can't disagree, and yet I love it :) It was just top fun.
(In case he deletes it) "The diff between trolling a-holes & everyone else is they r trying to make $ off your feelings about other films & culture war politics. They push contoversial guesses as coming from "sources" to gin up clicks. Let it go. END"
I don't have paramount+ but may well invest. Great cast. Helen Mirren and James Badge Dale amongst others.
Mangold is clearly lying. He is an anti-troll, just saying.
The first time I have seen Twitter used well.
And give trolls the finger.
Yes very true, it's a cycle which seems to repeat often. These trolls always focus on a character known to people in their 30s, 40s and 50s too- they know amongst those are the ones who will be easily provoked into feeling like their childhood heroes are being stolen by the 'woke' etc.
It's such an easy target for them. Bond himself is next for these guys when he gets recast, the cycle starts again, and people will fall for it.
Absolutely: and don't forget Michael Wilson saying how he thought the CraigNotBond thing did actually cost them some box office on Casino Royale- I think it's actually pretty important to fight this rubbish. It should be ignored really, but these lies are getting too much traction.
Also: bear in mind how much people say Disney is an evil mega corp (well, I'm not saying it's not :D ) and yet Mangold is pretty much going out on his own here with no sign of any corporate straight-jacketing. I think that's quite a good sign.
Daily Mail, I think. Not that I am advocating, or not advocating, for her to write for the next series, but is that the kind of deal she signed with Amazon? She can't contribute to anything non Amazon?
And for what it's worth, if nothing else, Dial Of Destiny glides of the tongue (unlike the last one). And while I am on the topic of Kingdom Of The Crystal Skulls, I think it gets more hate than it deserves. Is it really that far fetched, considering some of what happened in the original trilogy?
Whatever it is seems to have taken an awfully long time so far, so maybe it's off. I don't buy the Sun's report anyway.
I am still waiting for Edward Woodward to take over as M, and Bond to drive Ford Capri. Both were reported by one of our rags, yet neither turned out to be true. Worse still, was the phone hacking scandal that a few of them were embroiled in.
Ok you asked for it……
Indy is still an atheist!!’ Like seriously he sees the power of god not once but twice….
The line about it not about what you believe but how strong you believe just reeks of bullshit all religions are the same be good to yourself flower power hippie dippie crap that just annoys me……
I mean I don’t want to get into a religious debate here and everyone here knows I am a devout Christian so possibly I am making a mountain out of a molehill
But he saw Aliens he Saw the power of god he saw the stones he saw immortal men and power of well god again but to be more specific the power of Christ …. And yet it’s all in how strong you believe
Sorry Indy in the universe of your films the lady who the aliens killed couldn’t just be like “well I don’t believe in you anymore”
The guy killed by the wrong grail couldn’t say “I don’t believe in the grail” and get his health back
It doesn’t work like that
Ok I am going to try and just be calm here but yeah that is the secret thing that bothered me…
Either leave religion out of you character or have them believe but don’t have the guy keep not believing only to believe at the end….
I now fear this thread will turn into a Christian vs atheist argument and again I don’t want that I want a discussion of the films and the trailer…
However, in the last film, he sees aliens, mind control and other dimensions. It would blow the idea of God - any God - out the window. He does end in the film in a church, but there's no doubting that religion has taken a back seat by this point.
So, the lines in the trailer may be taken out of context depending on the source of the power that they are messing with in the upcoming film. It may be another religious artifact, it may be more supernatural. What doesn't make sense in the trailer could make sense in the film.
