Well no-one is saying it's going to be a perfect movie, but I'm not really sure what your point is.
I don't care if they had done any pickups or not, it's no indication of a movie's quality either way. But the point is that YouTube trolls lie; don't believe them.
Well this is what he said regarding that in reply to this charming Belgian:
Nice new pic!

Bravo!
Bingo…
For once, Twitter is used properly. I love how Mangold keeps wiping the floor with these characters.
Speaking of wiping the floor with these characters.

I am happy he’s gone. GL was right in rethinking about him taking over the franchise. One of Spielberg’s few casting errors.
The bulk of the movie was shot in 2021. When it started production, in June 2021, it was still supposed to be released in July 2022. Disney announced that it would be pushed back by one year at the end of October of 2021, while they had already shot for nearly five months.
Even if the production was troubled, which is a possibility, Mangold and the production team had all the time in the world to see what didn't work and to do reshoots this year. They already had a long window to take care of the issues that they spotted from the rough cut. And James Mangold may not have a perfect track record, but he tends to be solid and reliable. If it had been Doug Liman or Gareth Edwards, two directors notorious for relying on improv, who start to shape their films after principal production is finished and who do a lot of reshoots, when they're allowed to, it may have made sense. But Mangold has usually more of a journeyman approach to filmmaking.
So it's very unlikely that it took them to wait until this very moment to realize that the ending wasn't working and to plan reshoots.
Some people don't believe in logic, or at least don't understand the concept.
OK, no pick-ups. Any vans ?
Ouch. :-)
Mutt was never taking over at any stage. That’s just a made up rumor by fans.
The movie literally ends on a gag with Indy snatching the hat away from Mutt, which was the filmmakers telling everyone loud and clear NO ONE was replacing Indy.
Say what you will about KOTCS, but that's a great moment and a very fitting end to the movie.
I really wish people didn’t still think this way. It’s the reason I feel like I should get a new last name so people won’t associate me with my father.
I think people hate Shia more than Mutt. As I said before, a rare Spielberg miscast.
I don't get what's wrong with Shia.
Too full of himself. He’s Ezra Miller before Ezra Miller.
I think Phoebe Waller-Bridge will offer a much more interesting partner for Indy to spar with, to be honest.
So is Tom Cruise, but I don’t hold that against his films. Shia had his personal issues but I don’t think he’s gone on the kind of antics Ezra has like kidnapping.
And credit to Shia for finding more success with indie films post-Hollywood. Spielberg wasn’t wrong for having an eye on him, I just don’t think Shia really enjoyed making blockbusters. So it’s better he does more personal projects like HONEY BOY than TRANSFORMERS.
