And it´s unbelievable that he´s 78. Truly inspiring. A real-life AVTAK Bond ;-).
Well I guess we didn't know Marion was in the last one until they'd started filming: they seem to keep these locked down pretty well.
April does seem close enough for it to be all booked in and happening; I just want them to get a move on before he gets even older! It's faintly ridiculous they're making another, but it won't take the old ones away so I don't mind at all. And if they can persuade Mr Williams to score it then it's worth doing.
I suspect Ford means pre-production kicks off in April and, on a big film, that can last 4 - 5 months before actual principle photography, otherwise, I am sure we would have heard rumours and info by now.
I can see them keeping one character secret, especially if they're not played by a famous actor - even more so in 2008 when secrecy was a bit easier - but I can't see how they hired a villain, a henchman, a couple of allies (and possibly a younger actor to play Indy, since I'm 95% sure they're gonna do that as much as I dislike the idea) and yet that didn't leak.
Aw, no; he was great in KOTCS. He definitely turned up to that, it's just the script didn't and Spielberg barely did. The only scene that sparkles is that one in the Russian camp where he meets Marion again- I think it was written by someone else and it really shows.
I don't hate that film at all but there is something lacklustre about the whole thing: I really hope Spielberg is doing this one to make up for the last and he manages to get his energy levels up. If he can bring back that old spark where there's an idea in every shot then it'll feel like Indy.
I always think of that shot in Crusade where Indy is told to slide the machine gun he's holding over the Nazis and the camera follows it onto the table, and when Indy slides it across it smashes through a water bottle and glasses. It didn't need to smash any glass, but it does because it's just more exciting! Bring that back! :)
It is quite funny how there's an amusing line from Mutt about not being to judge how old Indy is and how he thinks he's "about 80".... and now he actually is... :)
As for comments about how he looks, how exactly does a guy close to 80 pull off convincing fight scenes, stunts, even running around?

He looked and acted old in The Force Awakens. It's not just what ant-aging face cream he uses to look a bit younger, you gotta age young-ish. He can't. He acts old. Sorry, I think this is a total non-starter of a idea, just dumb, but hey it's gonna happen because Disney bought the rights to IJ so they need to get some money out of it, and Lucasfilm/Disney will get even more haters than than they have at the moment due to the third SW trilogy. Last time I looked Skyfall grossed more than The Rise of Skywalker! Around 50 percent of the SW fanbase ditched ep 9. Well done, Disney. (sarcasm overload)
I think no-one is thinking this through with any sense. Just cos Ford is still around doesn't mean there should be another Indiana Jones film. It's not gonna be any good. Why do people want to see old man Indiana Jones? How does that enhance the franchise. Many IJ fans hated IJ 4 so what makes you think 5 will be any better? Let it end. Show some dignity and grace. Recast and reboot. Let's see a younger Indiana Jones!

He looks great, and once in his proper Indy attire I'm sure he'll look even better.I'm assuming the film will take place in the late '60's or possibly 1970's.
I doubt he'll forgo his iconic fedora and jacket for paisley shirts and bell bottom trousers, but one never knows.
Be interesting to see what type of story this film has.
I’m slightly nervous if David Koepp is back writing it. The man’s very hit or miss.
I guess an ancient tomb or jungle looked much the same in the 60s as it did in the 30s! :)

I thought Koepp was long gone. Last I heard it was Lawrence kasdan’s son. Fresh off his success of Solo. So, no better than Koepp.

All things considered, it’s an entertaining movie with some great action set pieces.
Brought in literally with the clock ticking , what Ron Howard did to save this production was nothing short of herculean . He re-shot 80% of what had already been filmed.

Nah, it's serviceable but utterly forgettable. I wouldn't even say it's underrated since I barely saw any negative comments (in fact I recall none).
Honestly, I found it to be the best of the Disney Star Wars efforts so far (not counting The Mandalorian).
Yeah it’s great fun: very entertaining bit of Star Wars. Anyone expecting anything more has perhaps placed too much investment in the idea of Star Wars. Best film ever? No, but I didn’t expect it to be.
The writing was very decent, but there was a bit of a plot lull towards the end when everything kind of stops, and I’d have to look towards the script for that. Regardless, I wouldn’t be unhappy with the writer of that on another gig.
