Like many I hated the crystal skull, such a disappointment, and I too
Can't get excited for an outing for a really Old Indy. I watched Temple
of Doom last night, and Loved it as always. I think apart from trying to
milk some more cash out of fans, there's no reason for an Indy 5.

I was once very excited about Indy 5 back when they were talking about doing a follow up to Crystal Skull. Ford could have convincingly donned the whip again in 2011/2012.

But it seems they have left it way too late and now this seems like another "Matrix 4" type scenario where nobody asked for it, and everyone's just kinda perplexed.

I asked for it. Revolutions left it too wide open.

Not to mention it was a chore to sit through so I certainly won't object to a better conclusion to the series!

I forgot the following when I wrote earlier about Indy losing an eye in the next film -- and thereby match "old Indy" from the TV show in the early 90s : In IJATTOD there was a scene of eating eyeballs....so....will Indy be forced to eat his own eyeball ? Oh, yeah, I know, "gross and outrageous !"
Well, sometimes in Indy movies they DO gross and outrageous !
ROTLA -- a man MELTED -- wait ! More than one ! Also: the first death in the film
IJATTOD -- see above, plus pulling a beating heart from a man's chest
IJATLC -- the villain -- a Bond-villain, too, from FYEO and a candidate Bond years earlier -- crumbled. Mild. Dry deaths are just not as gross.
IJATKOFTCS -- the flippin' film itself was outrageously awful but : death by ants

A byproduct of the new movie, perhaps? Will Harrison Ford be back?

This is pretty exciting. I enjoyed the hell out of Emperor's Tomb back in the day.

Me too, it’s fun to go back to it.

It does look like Disney have finally woken up and realised they own Indy. Good stuff.

Will they get Ford onboard I wonder? It may even part of his Indy 5 contract.

I saw ACG do a video on this, it's where I heard the news. I still return to Emperor's Tomb from time to time, hopfully, this new game will have the same rip-roaring action feel.

did anyone play Indianna Jones and the staff of kings... I played a bit of it on the Wii (could not get past that plane level) any reason why it wasn't put on 360?

I was wondering that myself. Tech support issues maybe?

    Yes, I did! :D

Don't remember too much about it though. Played a bit similar to "From Russia With Love." And some of the other PS2 era games.

There wasn't any reason for Indy 4 as well, trilogy was perfect but since they made the 4th one, i think it's better to get a proper conclusion for the series with a 5th and final film.

I agree. Still though, I’m wondering what a proper conclusion to Indy looks like with an 80 year old Ford.

I believe they should have tried to make an animated Indiana Jones film, that way they won't have to worry about Ford's age. I really don't know how they will make him look like an 80 year old man performing stunts and make it believable. Still, hoping for the best.

Perhaps a reboot would be a better idea, I think Chris Pratt's name has been mentioned
as a new Indy ? and I think he'd be a good fit for the character. He'd certainly have made a better Han Solo in the new Star Wars film.

At one point, there were rumours of Chris Pratt replacing Ford. And it might have worked, since Pratt also combines action and comedy very well .

Chris Pratt would terrible. He has little to no range. He always plays the big goof. Too overrated and overexposed! Try an unknown person instead.

Yeah. He would have been a better Solo.

Well there wasn't a reason to make 3 of them in the first place as such, beyond people liking them. Which is reason enough I think.

Yeah I'm just too curious at this point, I want to see what they're thinking.

The video game has more potential than the film in my opinion. Get Ford to do the voice work and there you go. The options are much greater for the story, and his age will not be an issue.

I agree. I think Pratt would be a woeful choice and would mean turning Indy into a full on comes franchise. Someone like Michael Fassbender would be a far better choice as I could believe him playing both a daredevil archaeologist and respected college professor.
