I don't think the songs ever made reference to Bond's powerful weapon. Only to Scaramanga's.
Just journalists having nothing better to write about.
'...Miss...?'
'The gun.'
'I've never needed more. B-) '
*SWOON*
People asking silly questions about guns when anyone who has read the books or bothered to watch the films knows that Bond was issued with the ppk in 1962 and used it up until 1997 because it was a small gun that could be concealed for what a secret agent does, discreetly, and then the producers decided to update it to something that Walther had that was more up to date but that youd associate more with Arnie and Bruce Willis.
Good to see the small guy back.
A true bond fan must know what his favourite and most accurate weapon is lol.
Yup. You could also spin the story further in saying, that our hero is experienced and brave enough to face the enemy or at least get close enough to not need a longer distance gun. :D
Specially with a silencer equipped at it.
Besides, even dumb writers (even those who choose to ignore it) know by now from the trailer that it´s a personal signature, not just some random killing tool.
to be quite honest though, I am a Tad bit disappointed with the current posters. I do not want to rant about posters because as I said earlier there are more important things to be concerned about such as the script and story. But ...if you really want to think deeper into the marketing strategy for Skyfall, the posters could have been better. Is it just me or did Casino Royal (2006) have really great posters. To me the CR2006 posters had a eerie substance to them, a dark but subduing feel of mystery. Anyways goodnight all
Says the man that claimed the choice between Kim Kardashian as a Bond girl or
a black actor playing James Bond was the hardest decision a Bond fan could make. What a joke.
The PPK: classic.
The P99: clunky.
The PPK is about style, enhancing Bond´s subtle elegance, the sensitive element hidden behind his brutal appearance.
