Benedict Cumberbatch signed on for Bond 24?

Here's a strange bit of news via The Daily Express so I'd take it with a huge pinch of salt...

The 23rd Bond film, Skyfall, hasn't even hit cinemas yet, and already there is talk of the next installment in the long running franchise, due for release in 2014. Daniel Craig has already signed on (his new contract has him playing the super spy for at least two more movies), and it is expected he will lock horns with Benedict Cumberbatch, who has being offered the role of the movie's villain. There has been no word on whether he has accepted the offer. He is a fantastic actor, so here's hoping he will.

Cumberbatch's star has being rising (deservedly so) ever since his fantastic portrayal as Sherlock Holmes in BBC's modern day re-telling of Arthur Conan Doyle's classic tales, and if he accepts he will add this to his role as the villain in next year's Star Trek Into Darkness, and voicing the dragon Smaug in The Hobbit trilogy.

Work on Bond 24 is expected to begin next year.
