Am I right in thinking there was a rumour for a while that Bond 23 was going to be called "OO7"?

I still feel Risico sounds find on it's own. - the problem is making the title make sense within the context of the film.

My idea was (and this is in no way creative) that Risico would be the bad guys surname. Perhaps if Quantum were to return post Skyfall the new 'Blofeld' if you like, is the head of Quantum known as 'Risico'. Let's say Pascal Risico or [insert name] Risico... just a thought.

I had similiar thoughts on this.

Risico: As you say the name of the main villain.
The Property Of A Lady: The head of Quantum would be a woman.
The Hildebrand Rarity: Some sort of dangerous scientific experiment?
  • I've always loved the title: For Special Services.

By Royal Command is great also, if it weren't young-Bond thus confusing the press.

If EON thinks the public doesn't know what License Revoked means you really think they'll choose Risico?

Why do the PoaL supporters feel its a good Bond movie title? I feel it has no life in it at all.

To be fair, that was a diffrent EON. This is the EON with balls enough to cast Daniel Criag and name a movie Quantum of Solace.

I have come up with some titles of my own. Some might seem bad, but let me know what you guys think. Thanks,

    Time Will Never End
    No Time to Bleed
    Shoot or Die
    Queen and Country
    Blood from Above

... Still working on more titles.

Motivations why i like to see:

Risico: The plot be risk for Eon to do/Bond must go far in his job.
The Hildebrand Rarity: sound luxery title to me/OHMSS, Austria, Swizerland, Germany or Denmark. I also have thinking about a plot element i refer to in my fanart a litle bit. Iam thinking about Hildebrand the name of faled project of Quantum.
Never Send Flowers as Bond 25 title: Some you think is death/gone returns and what i wrote under Hildebrand.

The Property Of A Lady iam also thinking about Quantum lead is woman, but also as reference to Judi Dench M and Bond (As kind of meaning as OHMSS) and things typical woman done by Bond.

Not sure what your point is here. Revoked is a word from the English language that is known by anyone of limited intelligence. Risico isn' t - thus it is intriguing rather than confusing.

(edit) As far as I remember, it wasn't EON but the studio and it was applicable to the US audience. Slightly patronising if you ask me.

Risico does sound cool and (obviously) sounds a lot like 'risk'. It is probably the best and most captivating unused Fleming title out there.

A Whisper Of Hate would be a good title I think. Comes from a reference in Fleming's Casino Royale - apparantly an old gypsy saying to describe the nine of hearts..."a whisper of love, a whisper of hate..."

Good point. Although the QOS title selection made a lot of people scratch their heads.

    Some atrocious title suggestions here...

Your argument has been proven void by the fact EON chose the title Quantum of Solace - as well as Nolan naming a blockbuster Inception etc I haven't heard that about EON thinking that Licence Revoked would be too 'complicated' a title for the public - but I can't believe that's true...or maybe it was true in the Brosnan years - But I can imagine a Nolan-Bond film being called Risico -
I would imagine logically that EON would vito the title Licence Revoked because the title is loaded maybe, or they don't like the sound of it....I don't know actually haha

How about Nefarious Bane as a title of a Bond film?

@lewisblake - The studio thought the US audience wouldn't necessarily know the meaning of 'revoked'. Thus it was changed to the most ironic title in the series.
  • I honestly wouldn't mind adaptions (albeit significantly tweaked) of the Gardner era. It would certainly make the process simpler for EON.
  • Just seen the Property of a Lady fan poster posted on the forum here;

and it looks fantastic - which is annoying because I still hate the name for a Bond film lol

The head scratching from the QOS title selection and the constant explanations the producers had to do makes me think they won't go with another title like that again. But you never know.

  • Busy reading Moonraker.one of the chapters is "the quickness of the hand".I thought that would a pretty cool title.I also think Shatterhand would be great. You can have Dr.Shatterhand as the head of Quantum. You could then have the films finale taking place on his island with the garden of death.

just a quandry - but do you guys think they could name a villain something ominous like Shatterhand in the modern day Bond era? I personally love the villain names of classic Bond - Goldfinger, Oddjob, Jaws etc But could they get away with a name like shatterhand? Or would the producers cite 'Dr Evil' and veto such a name. OR could they use 'Shatterhand' as somekind of internal Quantum codename for a character?

    'The Blink of an Eye'
    'The Portugal Penultimate'
    'Double or Nothing'

Wanted to include Portugal in a Bond title especially for @Sandy. :)
