A more solid plot lead film, the gun barrel, the story set up at the beginning, bond being assigned to the mission, the central female lead, the villain, the build up and a big finally (Not talking massive lair with guy's in orange boiler suits that just doesn't work today, just something with a bit more guts) & finally bond gets the girl at the end, as thelivingroyale has already mentioned.
The Good bits of "Skyfall" good interaction & dialogue between the characters, the return of Q and Moneypenny and the New M (Mallory), & finally no more bloody nods to what's past that don't fit & one liners that feel forced.
OK bring back Sam and his crew as I thought visually the film was top draw, but give him & Mr. Craig a modern twist on a traditional bond film, no more deep explorations into bonds character as a central plot line, keep it in the background maybe, IMO it's now been done to death.
I'd love to see Chris Nolan direct but I agree, doubt he'd accept at this time.
that will almost certainly come at the end of Craig's last Bond film? surely?
Also, gun-barrel at the start, and a really good score.
I'd like the two-film cliffhanger to basically be the novels YOLT and TMWTGG. Craig tends to handle downer endings best--although all three films have a glimmer of hope.

A memorable henchman.
Skiing/Water scenes
Bond gets the girl in the end.

I think Owen's dull too. Really its only Fassbender who could play seccond fiddle to Sean's performence. I'm hoping they go with him once Daniel's all done.
-Bond as a classical archetype alpha male always on top of his game.
-No more personal stuff. Just give him a mission and let him do what he does best.
-At least three huge action setpieces (SF only had two)
-The return of David Arnold

There is already a lack of reasonable arguments with some "true fans" posters, the last thing we need is someone who can't accept that there are people who don't like Owen.
No the problem is the stories, because there's no source material left they keep coming up with lame plot lines. Skyfall is good but you could drive a double decker bus through the plot holes and the story is pretty week.
I'd love to hear the 007-theme again.

OK firstly the story (Agent list stolen from a hard drive was Nato Agents, not 00's), if this was some Bruce Willis straight to DVD effort would you defend it so strongly, I think not, but because it's Bond with certain production values and massive hype, you accept it's pukka. I've said already that on the whole I liked it, I just feel as a fan of the series for over 40 years, it could have been sharper, basically they shot for the bull and hit the 9 ring, that's all.
I don't know. In terms of delivery, he and Craig are extremely similar.
I think he'd make a great villian actually. Not an over the top villian, but a more subtle one.
Hardy could do a god job but he's Mad Max now. Neither of them will ever be Bond.
Do you think that Hardy would make a great villain? If Nolan's involved, there's a huge chance for that...
Hm.. I'm pretty sure he can work on that accent (on a side note: I just LOVE English accents), Bale & Oldman can... ;)
I know he has an Irish accent normally, I was talking about his English one he does for some films (IB, from the clips I've see X Men too). I did enjoy him in Haywire.
same here - though I can also see Hugh Jackman or Henry Cavill playing the role - but Hardy and Fassbender are/ will be less burdened by other roles they have/will be playing.
Hardy is Mad Max now. If the new one does well enough there might be sequels, which would rule him out.

I'd say the role will go to a relatively unknown after Craig hangs up his walther - but if there's an established actor who is completely perfect for the role I wouldn't rule them out at all - just look at Roger Moore who was firmly established in The Saint before he was picked to play Bond. Hardy is playing Mad Max for say...a prospective trilogy of films, the character of Mad Max is very different to James Bond, and hardy can alter himself in physicality to an extent. Fassbender could do a decent english accent, but he could even leave an irish lilt in there maybe, Connery was'nt exactly english in tone through and through, Brosnan was celtic and had a sort of clipped tone to his voice, Moore was a posho lech and Lazenby sounded like a very australian englishman let's say lol - so there is a degree of 'give' and an allowed margin of 'variation' lol
Which brings me on to Jackman, who could play the role and with a more effectual english accent than lazenby, and Henry Cavill who could be perfect for the role - both are more burdened by their more iconic heroic roles as Wolverine and Superman. Cavill being setup as Superman for DC's turn to create a string of films mirroring the Avengers phase 1/2 etcetera Superman is here to stay prospectively for a good while after 2013's Man of Steel. Jackman has played Wolverine in a string of films now and will pop up in the next xmen film too. Jackman has aged with the role and really made the role his through dedication, body transformation (in this way he can be likened to his buddy Daniel Craig!) etc So my point is...it would be much harder or much less possible to envisage actors like Jackman or Cavill playing Bond in the future when they are so iconic as certain long running roles - compared to Hardy who has played a couple of villains and will have had one outting as a leading hero in Mad Max when Craig gives up Bond. I'd also say hardy and Nolan would both steer clear of Hardy being the villain in a Bond film when he's already basically played a Bond film in the Dark Knight Rises
