    Favorites:

Live and Let Die (Wings) - classic
The World is not Enough (Garbage) - love the lyrics, how it's sung, guitar
GoldenEye (Tina Turner) - nostalgia hitting in
SkyFall (Adele) - best choice for recent years
Nobody Does it Better (Carly Simon) - love the hook
License to Kill (Gladys Knight) - a soft spot for this one (a favorite, but not great)

Middle of the Pack (and could rearrange depending on how I feel at the moment):

A View to a Kill (Duran Duran) - I like how it doesn't try to be too bond-ish
On Her Majesty's Secret Service (John Barry Orchestra) - a little too dated sounding
Diamonds Are Forever (Shirley Bassey) - classic
Casino Royale (Chris Cornell) - minus the scream at the end, solid song
Tomorrow Never Dies (Sheryl Crow) - screechy voice, but good and under-rated imo
You Only Live Twice (Nancy Sinatra) - too bad she sang it, better as an instrumental
Thunderball (Tom Jones) - in yo face!
From Russia with Love (Matt Munro) - start of the classics
Goldfinger (Shirley Bassey) - nice use of alliteration
The Living Daylights (a-ha) - glad Barry saved this one
The Man with the Golden Gun (Lulu) - like
Die Another Day (Madonna) - like the idea, not the execution (but strings save it for me)
    Moonraker (Shirley Bassey) - sounds...tired

    Cant Stand:

For Your Eyes Only (Sheena Easton) - blah
Another Way to Die (Jack White and Alicia Keys) - starts great but wtf happened to the chorus
All Time High (Rita Coolidge) - the definition of blah

Updated from my earlier post from 2013:

    1. You Know My Name [From Casino Royale] (Chris Cornell)
    2. Goldfinger (Shirley Bassey)
    3. Nobody Does It Better [From The Spy Who Loved Me] (Carly Simon)
    4. A View to a Kill (Duran Duran)
    5. Skyfall (Adele)
    6. Live and Let Die (Paul McCartney & Wings)
    7. Thunderball (Tom Jones)
    8. GoldenEye (Tina Turner)
    9. O.H.M.S.S. Theme (John Barry)
    10. Licence to Kill (Gladys Knight)
    11. The World Is Not Enough (Garbage)
    12. Diamonds Are Forever (Shirley Bassey)
    13. You Only Live Twice (Nancy Sinatra)
    14. The Man with the Golden Gun (Lulu)
    15. From Russia with Love (Matt Munro)
    16. Tomorrow Never Dies (Sheryl Crow)
    17. The Living Daylights (Ah-ha)
    18. For Your Eyes Only (Sheena Easton)
    19. Moonraker (Shirley Bassey)
    20. Another Way to Die [From Quantum of Solace] (Jack White & Alicia Keys)
    21. All Time High (Rita Coolidge)
    22. Die Another Day (Madonna)

    A few notes:

    - I have a big connection with You Know My Name. I was in my coming of age phase when Casino Royale and this song was released and not only do I truly find it a great song, but it also brings me back to simpler times in my life. A truly cracking theme for me.
    - I noticed Licence to Kill is fairly high, perhaps that stems from my nostalgia for that film as well. (LTK was my first film.)
    - Another Way to Die's first 30 seconds or so is actually good. However, once the vocals kick in the song totally goes to hell. White and Keys's voices together sounds absolutely horrendous.
    - I remember lots of people not liking Lulu's Golden Gun track, but I don't find it all too bad. Quite catchy.
    - Of my list, only the bottom four are songs are ones I never listen to. I don't even have Die Another Day or All Time High on my computer.
    - Speaking of All Time High, John Barry's instrumental version of the theme as heard in the Octopussy score is beautiful. Rita Coolidge's vocals are drowsy, bizarre and just plain boring. It feels so chintzy.
    - Madonna's Die Another Day perfectly suits the film.
    - I would be very interested to see another instrumental title sequence, but I have a feeling this is never going to happen again.

I've decided to no longer factor "how fitting to the Bond sound" a song is; just my preference of the song musically. For that reason LALD will place markedly higher than it used to.

23: Another Way to Die (Quantum of Solace)
    22: Die Another Day
    21: Tomorrow Never Dies
20: The Man with the Golden Gun
    19: Moonraker
    18: For Your Eyes Only
    17: All Time High (Octopussy)
    16: GoldenEye
    15: Goldfinger
    14: Thunderball
    13: Diamonds Are Forever
    12: Licence to Kill
11: The World is Not Enough
10: From Russia With Love (instrumental)
    9: The Living Daylights
    8: Skyfall
    7: You Only Live Twice
    6: Live and Let Die
    5: A View to a Kill
4: The James Bond Theme (Dr. No)
3: You Know My Name (Casino Royale)
2: On Her Majesty's Secret Service (instrumental)
1: Nobody Does it Better (The Spy Who Loved Me)

    22. Die Another Day

This was a very hard list for me to do because I do like almost every Bond theme. But, I think I managed to get them in an order for my personal taste. I didn't include Dr. No intro because it would obviously be the defining theme.

    Awful ranking.

Just shows how subjective this can be ...but seriously talk about questionable tastes.

I guess that's why they still make Pepsi.
