What did Cubby think of Goldeneye

edited October 2012 in News Posts: 21
I have been reading a lot of Bond interviews lately, both new and old ones. A couple of question that I can't find any answers to was when Cubby handed over Bond to Barbara and Michael he didn't get involved in the making of it. But did he take part in the script process that preceeded the film? He was ill, but the film premiered the year before he past away. So my question is what he thought about it? Maybe he kept his opionion to himself (many people in that position would have). But since he was very open, he could have shared his thoughts. Are there anyone in this forum who can answer these questions?

He was not involved in the movie production as such, I think. He handed over the reigns to Mike and Babs. But as this movie was developed as a Dalton movie (before he stepped down officially, AFAIK), he might have had his say in the pre-production. But then; I don't know that. Just assuming.
