Personally, I just enjoy the films and don't care about 'Bond lore' and continuity. But for those that need continuity, codename is the only game in town.

Codename isn't continuity. It's just mutilating the character so you can understand it.

Just watched Inside For Your Eyes Only on the For Your Eyes Only blu ray and MGW talks about how John Glen wanted the Tracy grave scene to show that it's the same character - the SAME CHARACTER- Michael G. Wilson's very words, him who is currently co-producing James Bond films.

    A ha!!! I knew it!!!!!

Oh, come on. Every single creator/producer/anyone involved with the production of the film knows that it's one character.

Or anyone that has seen it. Well except maybe two.

True. I posted earlier, though, that maybe there was ten years of 'code name" stuff going on after OHMSS. I'd like the research this. Tanaka's reveal about FYEO leads me to think there was a lot of chatter.

I bet Charles K Feldman never dreamed that there were morons out there who would take this ludicrous premise seriously.

    Maybe @Mendes4lyfe is actually Tamahori?

Any sign of him today? Or has he been mysteriously abducted like his 'evidence'?

I seem to recall he was arrested for indecent exposure while in drag. I'm not even making that up.

Soliciting a cop while in drag. You couldn't make it up.

It's possible that throughout the 70s, in newspapers and magazines (days long before internet message boards), this codename theory was bounced around a lot. I'd like to research this and find out.

I think initially the line 'This did not happen to the other fella' was taken too literally when Lazenby breaks the fourth wall. Which I interpreted as the women did not bolt for Sean, alluding to the fact Tracy drove off. Tongue in cheek joke.

@Thunderpussy never thought if it like that, though does fit.

No it doesn't. That's exactly what did happen to Prince Charming.
