    OMG that was awesome!!! ^:)^
We shot that all in one day. It began to rain, but we kept going. Nothing stops an indie short.

It actually reminded me of my training :) I spent countless days, in fake houses fighting the "enemy" hand to hand, we really beat each other up, oh...those were the times, sigh...
I think I would have been in MMA if I was born 10 years later. When I was in the free fight club, that sport really was only at the beginning, there were almost no tournaments, that only started after 2000.
Well at least I had a soccer career, respectively still have (as coach).

We got beat up too, but not from strikes- it was all the falling. And I have permanent neck damage from all the simulated punch reactions. Too bad I never joined the union...

I wish I had videos I could show, at least I have a ton of photos.

My military unit, most of them are still close friends.

Not only does that man have a rocket launcher...but he's also holding a SIG assault rifle in the other hand. Is that The Terminator?

Thanks Jason, I sure did. That was my senior project. I pushed the limit of high school special effects. :-bd

Chrisisall's Zen & The Art Motorcycle Martial Arts:
No one's ever going to hit you who's smaller & weaker than you. You will face more mass + force than you have or can generate.
Therefore, speed of movement & thought is essential.

All other martial concepts I embrace flow from this precept.

Here's something I can share with you that I did in my active days. Browsing through my army photos and videos I found it :)

Asymmetric training is key. There is much to be learned from Drunken Boxing and combat Tai-Chi.

They need a video for Steven Seagal's technique showcasing how to properly shit your pants when getting choked out by Gene LeBell.

Why don't we just start a ballerina thread?
Well, it's not ballet, but we sure danced a lot in this movie. 21 minutes of nonsense, but we had fun doing this Super 8 film back in 1980...

Reviving this ancient thread to let you all know that I graded to shodan or first dan black belt in karate yesterday (a.k.a. 'basically competent; no longer a beginner'). I am very achy today but it was worth it.

I don't study myself but i'm curious to know if any of you had heard of William E. Fairbairn? A real life stone cold tough guy. Fairbairn fought on the streets of Asia, trying to clean the place up, where you either won the fight, or bled to death in the gutter. He pioneered the Gutter Fighting/Defendu style used by the Brits in WWII, which was later adopted by our cousins across the pond. The legend of Fairbairn goes that his body was covered in scars that he had sustained from the 100's of fights he'd had.

For Bond fans, Fairbairn is the Fairbairn of 'Fairbairn Sykes', the knife that Bond favoured in the books.

Chuck Norris facts? Pffft, this guy was the REAL deal. He soaked up as much knowledge of martial arts as he possibly could, and then he took off the safety catch.
