Craig toasting the bad guys (SPOILERS)

I've always seen Craig as a good actor who plays a badass Bond and has embodied the essense of the character since the intro of CR. But this little moment, scored with the Bond theme, really convinced me that he IS James Bond. It seems that the typical tongue in cheek, devil may care, cocky and yet endearingly funny attitude of the character has finally been embraced by Craig's Bond. Craig had many such scenes earlier and later in the film, but this one just stands out for me. Definately a top 5, if not top 3, Bond performance.

    That was a really funny scene indeed. Allow me to raise a glass before we try to kill each other. Reminds me of something I could see Roger and Pierce doing, and maybe Sean too. :)

    Also this scene shortly afterwards, when he was pointing out to the guys, before ramming the attaché case into their throats.

    I love that scene as well. Craig owns the role and has added a little bit more humour to proceedings.

    There is more, that is just done without words from him.

    The look, when Q send him after the train.
    The look, when he throws away his gun during the PTS
    The look he gives Kincaide, after he shot through the wall (I think)

    etc. Funny moments for me. Can't remember them all.

    Aye, t'is a great scene.

    I also like how Bond is quite concerned by the appearance of the Komodo Dragons, but the big Asian henchman seems to ignore this and just piledrive him into the ground.

    Dan is the king of Bond mannerisms. EVERYTHING the man does looks cool, and @Creasy and I will attest (after discussions about it) that he is the king of throwing things. Keys, phones, guns, ahh...a baby? Dan can throw it all, and make it look like it is the most amazing thing ever laid eyes on. His expressions, the way he holds himself when walking and how he controls his body language are what make Dan ever more of a great James Bond.

    So true. Its fun watching this, but did he even toss anything in SF? :-?
    The lap was too big to be really tossed.

    5 million euros in a suitcase would be very hard to just swing around as a weapon. I found this scene very unrealistic and plain kiddy. Craig made way too many jokes and quips in skyfall, they all felt forced and out of place for his style of Bond. Casino Royale was his best performance, and clearly is the best movie he has done as Bond.

    Tossed his gun aside in the opening scene after he'd run dry on ammo. The look of disgust on his face right then was brilliant!

    I also liked his, "I'll do my best" line to Kincaide.

    Craig has excellent body language and knows how to implement the humor via speech or body language without making it embarrassing ala *cough*Brosnan *cough*

    @TouchMyButtons is committed to never saying anything nice at all about Skyfall. In doing so, he will pick at the most insignificant things, no matter how wrong he may be, to get that point across. He is also under the illusion that CR is completely plausible, which is utter cacophony.

    I like the expression on his face when the Aston Martin gets blown to pieces.

    But I must say that he was the least convincing as a bad ass in SF, compared to CR and QoS. He couldn't take care of Patrice in the PCS, nor was he able to save Severine or his boss. And let's not forget that the komodo dragon and Eve saved his ass in the casino.

    You don't know, whether or not he would have taken care of Patrice. He said so himself to M - why she hadn't truted him to take care of it.

    How many secondary Bond girls have NOT been saved by ALL the Bonds over the years?

    He was not convincing as bad ass, when he fought like a whole little army all by imself - well almost.

    He won over the fat guy and the dragon and we don't know, what would have happened without Eve.

    Try to take this into consideration, Z.

    I liked that bit. I think Craig was much funnier in SF than before and it helped.

    @Zekidk I wouldn't say he wasn't as badass, but I think the fight scenes weren't as good. Much less brutal than CR.

    these were 500 Euro notes. 5million euros would weigh 11kilos.

    Be as sure as you like, he could throw that easily, and usefully.

    If you're going to troll, at least try and be clever about it.

    Do you really consider Severine the "secondary Bond girl"? Who was the first, then? Eve?

    But yes, in the last 20 minutes, he kind of redeemed himself, although he couldn't save M. But he didn't win over the fat guy. The fat guy got the better of Bond, but Bond was saved by the dragon.

    Yes true, but you as Bondfans can certainly tell me, how often all the Bonds were saved by exactly that. Good luck and a gadget. Did it make Connery less badass or Dalton? I don't think so...

    You are missing my point. I don't mind Bond being saved by someone else or a gadget. I just thought he was mostly incompetent in SF.

    If you're right about DTK being a banned poster, you should alert the mods so they can check on that. MI6 policies are fairly liberal and usually very reasonable. If you get to the point around here where you get banned, you have zero self control and maturity and shouldn't be getting a second chance.

    DTK is in the extreme, and I do mean the EXTREME minority regarding humor in Bond films. It's always been there. In the Moore and Brosnan era it went a little too far at times, but for my taste they had just the right amount of it in SF. And I welcomed it, the last half of CR and most of QOS was lacking in this regard.

    I never said it made him less badass, I just said the gadget helped too.

    Craig gave a top 3 Bond performance in SF, the mannerisms and humor helped immensely.
