The Diamonds Are Forever script features Fleming's alterations on almost every page and was prepared by his secretary Ulrica Knowles, a real-life Miss Moneypenny.

A first edition of Fleming's completed novel, with a note from the author to Knowles, is also going under the hammer alongside the manuscript...

I'll be keeping an eye on this now. Thanks for the information. £80,000 just isn't enough!

I think that i'll agree with Sam, It should be at least £150,000 Or £250,000.

I thought it'd go for a higher amount, too. Could depend on the title.

If it were CASINO ROYALE, then perhaps it'd catch more.

I wonder how much was changed in the final version? I have yet to visit DAF, so I can't be sure. Top honors to whoever gets it. Some great Bond history there for certain.

The full article hints at some of the changes:

    - Kidd was apparently going to be named Boofy Gore
    - Chapter 17 was titled "Bond forces the race" and changed to "Thanks for the ride"
    - More drama was added to the horse auction

Would've been nice if there was a list of all of the significant changes.
