Felix Leiter can of course be transferred, he can also be sent say to follow a South American criminal to another part of the world, or go to a conference, and meet Bond there. Something like this.
Good call. Aaron Eckhart is also a good call.
Jeff Wright is a very good actor so I'm not complaining and does bring some diversity to the franchise.
Perfect example:
It may be worth pointing out Mockingjay films from this September to next May, so hopefully Wright is not too busy there to film for Bond 24 as well.
If this is the case? This is great news indeed to hear? Hopefully this could indicate a joint CIA/MI6 op to take on Quantum?! Would love to see Leiter mixing it up with Bond against the enemy! :-bd
"Before I go, I have to ask: Bond 24? Any chance you’ll be in it?
No. Felix is going to be playing Beetee [from "The Hunger Games/Mockingjay"] next fall or whenever it comes out."

So either Felix won't be in BOND24 or we'll have another Felix. I'd love to have a Felix but another change would be just so... crackbrained!
Hope it is a swerve, but obviously a disappointment if the talented Jeffrey Wright is not reprising Felix Leiter. Certainly deserves to be the first three film Felix.
Agree with this completely. Wright has been great in the role and I'd like to see him back.
When he heard his name in Spectre...
M
When he get his contract and read the litle letters..
When he read those litle letters ( He wil be part of presconference of the movie..), there paying him a lot of money.. to return..
He signd, Barbara and Daniel give him a call.., Olga is back, BBC is exited, fans are happy..
So whyle Sony is calling the Ghostbusters, for MGM it is time to call Jeffrey Wright..!
According to the Sony leaks we know this is true, Felix was in John Logan's draft. He apparently flirts with Moneypenny and tells Bond that she's a "foxy lady". So maybe we should be glad that Logan and Leiter got the axe...
However......despite being a big Jeffrey Wright fan. I'm a huge advocate of recasting the Leiter character. Part of the fun of the character is the radical casting decisions.
We've seen so many drastic changes; from handsome and athletic to portly and balding. It's always fun seeing who will be the new Felix. Felix is such a stock CIA character in the Bond films that the casting can take some brave moves.
I think it would be brilliant if Leiter was reintroduced as a woman. I'm a huge proponent that Sarah Paulson should be the new Felix Leiter. I can just imagine her as a beleaguered and world-weary CIA agent
I suppose you could just create a new female CIA agent...but I like a more iconalastic move. Plus, the casting of Felix has zero continuity. How could one man go from being Rik van Nutter and turn into Norman Burton?! It makes zero sense. The only think they have in common, aside their gender, is race. However, Jeffrey Wright and Bernie Casey have proven that race isn't entirely important to the character either.
There is zero logic in the casting of Felix, so I'm a huge proponent of the franchise going a little off-piste.
Personally, I've always been an advocate of Aaron Eckhart being cast as Felix. He would've fit the Craig universe like glove.
I think that Jefffrey Wright was the best and the fact that they kept him during Craig's tenue says a lot.
Jack Lord was good and I liked the boyish charm of Rik Van Nutter (who reminded me of a young Clint Eastwood)
Cin Linder and that jackass they casted in DAF would be the ugly and the very ugly. Hedison was better in LTK than he was in LALD
Same here. No Felicia Leiter or Mr Moneypenny.
It was good that created a replacement of Moneypenny with a male character called Villiers, and that's the way to do it. Other than that, it's absurdity and stupidity.
