    Quantun of Vengeance
Starring Ryan Kwanten as the main villain, no doubt.

Some potential from the DN novel:

Night Passage, Horizons of Agony, A Shower of Death

To be fair the last title A shower of death refers to bird guano. :)

I'm hoping Bond 24 will have a title that is very specific to the story like Dr. No, Goldfinger, GoldenEye or Skyfall. I generally dislike titles that are not completely connected to the story like Diamonds Are Forever, For Your Eyes Only, A View to a Kill or the 3 terrible titles between GoldenEye and Casino Royale.

Please Mr. John Logan, give us a title
    1. that isn't too long (No more than 3 words!)
    2. describes something very specific in the story (The Bond girl, the villain, a place etc.)
    3. and that is bold and memorable
    Thank you :bz

By the way my 5 favourite Bond titles so far:
    1. Casino Royale
    2. Dr. No
    3. From Russia with Love
    4. GoldenEye
    5. Skyfall

Some potential from the FRWL novel:

The Moguls of Death, The Beautiful Lure, The Killing Bottle
  • The Beautiful Lure.....quite catchy and it might work.

Dirty Eloquence can be a good title which sets the tone of taking Bond back to being darker and making the theme about his kills. I think Sam Mendes can use Bond's kills as the theme of handling life and death which many fans may like. Life and death is a recurring issue in most of his films and what it takes to really feel alive while living/breathing.

Impersonal Vendetta. Because a vendetta is more often than none considered personal and thus accompanied by this epithet, using the opposite epithet would be almost paradoxical.
  • What would Bond use for his epithet? That would make a good title for a Bond flick.

SOLACE OF QUANTUM? Hmmm, maybe there's a hint of the plot in that title?

How about THUNDERFINGER? No, no. That's just terrible.

Natalya: How can you be so cold?
Bond: It's what keeps me alive.

Vesper: It doesn't bother you, killing those people?
Bond: Well, I wouldn't be very good at my job if it did.

I would ban the words "death", "kill", "die", "live", "diamond" and "gold" from all future Bond movie titles if I could. :bz

In case Bond will make good his pandering with islamists in Afghanistan, and take them out this time(Camoron forbid), call it SUBMISSION IMPOSSIBLE.

Thanks, @LicencedToKilt69007. I'm a sucker for the cliched 'live kill die' titles. I don't prefer them over the other titles, but they were Fleming, and should make a return very sparingly. I'd like to see the return of the 'gold...' title.

Isn't it the the title of a XIXth century adventure or scifi novel?

EDIT: Well, I'll be damned, it's a play by Jean Cocteau: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Infernal_Machine_(play)

Ian Fleming was originally toying with different titles before he finally ended with Moonraker. The Infernal Machine was one of the titles he had in mind.

The Silver Phantom and Valley of Shadows are the two best chapter titles for future films in all of Fleming, in my opinion.

Those do sound cool. The Silver Phantom could be a villain in the guise of that moniker, and the Valley of Shadows just sounds like a great way to describe the espionage world as a whole, very fitting for this Bond.

The Silver Phantom for Bond 25?

Another colour in a title would make a change.

Anyone prefer the idea of an original title first and foremost? I'm not bothered about Fleming titles unless they are absolutely appropriate to the story. Which I would consider a stretch given the number of titles, to the number of potential stories that could be told. As for chapter titles, I just don't see them going this route. After all, we have a reasonable creative team on board, who are more than capable of generating titles for their stories. Pretty route one if you're a screenwriter.

I too would much prefer original titles but if the chapter title route was taken, as unlikely as it is, one of the above would be my choice.
