The name's 25. Bond 25, or rather, it's NTTD.

I've always thought either " A whisper of love ..... " or " A whisper of Hate " would make a good title, or Risico

No, I actually thought this one could work, depending on the plot. Outside of the actual novel titles, I've actually preferred when EON has used titles that draw on some part of Fleming's or Bond's past or present, such as Goldeneye, Skyfall, The World Is Not Enough etc. as opposed to Quantum of Solace or Die Another Day for instance.

This phrase kept coming up a few times during Brosnan's tenure as Bond, so I just thought it might work, in the right context. It could refer to a girl (a potentially villainous co-spy such as Seydoux' character is rumoured to be for instance) or something within Mi6 that is hazardous to Bond.

I'll admit to not being familiar with the novels unfortunately. However, I have a feeling that ultimately they will go back to the novels and find a phrase or theme and then use that for the title, like Skyfall. It would be an interesting exercise to go through those novels and try to predict the title (and lock down the website domain name) before EON does.

Anyone has the idea of a proverb or a British expression that could be twisted into a title?

I had a few that were a twist on idioms/expressions..

Forever In My Sights (ie. 'gunsights')
    Life Is A Neverlasting Game
    Once The Daybreak Is Done

As were on the subject of expressions...

Lethal As The Day Is Long - (‘Honest as the day is long’)
    or
Deadly As The Day Is Long

Out Of The Venom Of Your Heart - (‘Out of the goodness of your heart’)

Your Days Are Numbered - (‘Days are numbered’)

A Lifeline For Your Thoughts - (‘A penny for your thoughts’)

Like White On Ice - (‘Like white on rice’)

I do like the fact that the producers seem to be caring less about the American audiences when it comes to titles.

I remember when License to Kill came out, I read that the original title was meant to be License Revoked, which would have been much more appropriate and Bond-like, but sadly a focus group test revealed that many Americans could not comprehend the meaning of the title, so we got what we eventually got, which is much more Die Hard like. Same with Die Another Day.

When Quantum of Solace came around, it was almost like they did not give a hoot what folks with low comprehesion thought, and were almost sticking a middle finger up...

I must admit, I've always liked Tomorrow Never Dies though. Very Bond like.

Titles with 'Die' in them should be banned.

Most likely because of the farce last time around!

If they did use Risico at any point, how would forum members abbreviate it? Every title has been reduced to initials of words or syllables so far but nothing works for Risico!

Also they need to stay away from titles with the following words - Gold and kill. Just for a while.

    RS? RO?

    RIS
  • Vowels are usually dropped for abbreviations. Either RS or RSC should do fine. Or better yet: plain R.
  • Is "Risico" so long that it needs to be abbreviated? C'mon...

Indeed poor old Dr. No is even abbreviated to DN. I think it also helps to differentiate between the film and the character.

As in MoonRaker it might be the second syllable giving.
    RisiCo = RC ? :)

Ri-Si-Co is three syllables. Awkward, isn't it?

Therefore they must never use this title, since our entire community would implode in a state of confusion.

That must be the reason it has never been used. And what about OO7 in New York?
