Why set out to create a thread you don't expect to last? No need to edit out a few of your comments just to dish out snarky sarcasm.
I'll take my leave from this thread. It's been created to cause fighting and name calling, and I want to avoid as much of this as I can. There's been too much of it lately, and I don't care to listen to one-sided views on my favorite Bond, the Brozz. I'll treat it like I treated the SF dislike thread: say what you want, but I don't want a part of it unless it's a reasonable discussion.
Hey, I love the Brozz too. I just had a roundabout way of showing it here that not everyone will get. Sarcasm is not universally understood.
Me too! Sorry if you took my goof on Brosnan Bashing seriously. TND is in my permanent top 5.

I am with @Creasy47. See you on the flip side, folks.
Dude, it was to poke fun at Brosnan trashing in so many other threads! Sorry if I was so convincing as a hater. Didn't the "His nostrils are different sizes" comment tip you off?
@-)
I even liked DAD... well... for a while... But Brosnan delivered a fine performance in it!!!!!
Too bad the movie wasn't better than DAF in the end.
I agree. I blame Purvas & Wade for Die Another Day getting mix reviews. I would have hired Michael France as the screen writer.
I couldn't agree more.
@chrisisall, thank you for redeeming yourself so fast, despite the lack of logic that's now all over the premise of this thread, as others have pointed out. Also, please stop double posting. I've had to correct three double posts in this thread alone. Use the edit button unless you want to receive complaints about spamming. Thank you!
At the risk of kicking off another round of fisty-cuffs, I'll say it: Pierce Brosnan is the best James Bond.
Forget Sean, Laz, Rog and Tim. They were just keeping the seat warm the ultimo Bond came along. You knew Lazenby wouldn't last when, after being slapped by a woman in On Her Majesty's Secret Service, he turned to the camera and said, "This never happened to the other fellow." Why not just have Jerry Lewis play the part? Not only that, he actually cried on camera. What a wuss!
Dalton's Bond, on the other hand, was far too serious. It wasn't entirely his fault: AIDS was on the forefront of everyone's mind so there was no Pussy Galore for him to play with. "The major difference between Dalton and the earlier Bonds is that he seems to prefer action to sex," wrote Roger Ebert. That made him an effective killer... but a boring Bond. Too right!
Now fans of Connery say he was all muscle, while those that support Moore preferred his wit. The perfect blend of each man's best qualities? That would yield Pierce Brosnan. He has it all -- keeping his enemies at bay with a punch or a witty retort. He's tough and cocky like Connery; super suave and debonair like Moore.
Plus, Brosnan uses his own hair to play the part. Take that Connery!
Dour Daniel Craig is nothing but a charmless retread of Dalton. When Bond looks like an SS officer from a WW2 movie you know you're in trouble.
So, when the world is the target and the threat is real you can still depend on one man in an invisible car. Brosnan. Pierce Brosnan.
Like all other Bonds, Brosnan brought good things and bad things to the role. (My problem with writing this, by the way, is that I've gone through this routine about 300 times already over the past 7 1/2 years, but okay). He had the cool and the swagger; his line delivery was at times splendid with excellent comic timing. And as for his physicality, well, he wasn't beefed up like Craig of course, but I'd say he came off rather good no matter what.
Unfortunately there were moments where Brosnan less than shined and equally unfortunately he was sometimes handed script material that let him (and for that matter us too) down. Ergo, there's Brosnan (*nodding no*) and there's Brosnan (*nodding yes*). I still think the latter is more abundantly present in the films and so I don't look back on four Brosnan films with hatred or solid disgust, but rather with warm feelings of nostalgia and some sparks of brilliance.
Lastly, on a purely human level, the man Pierce Brosnan seems like a great and nice guy, whom has befallen some personal tragedy over the years and whom I think deserves a little more credit than what some peeps are willing to give him.
- Respect -
Brosnan helped save the franchised with Goldeneye back in the 90s and he is a generally well loved Bond i mean all his films were just pure escapism (something that people didnt need to think about- they were just pure fun- yes DAD was not that great but he, Judi Dench and Rosmund Pike try to save the ship and he gives his best performance in it)
he was the first bond to have sex with an x-men and foreplay with another x-men, he had the best bond video games, he seemed to be more sensitive and human- Dalton (and Lazenby) was a bit more human
and lets face it Brosnan and Dalton actually both felt more authentic as a "British" Secret Agent- Moore was too campy (dont get me wrong i loved OP,FYEO, AVTAK, TSWLM and MR) but he just didnt feel too serious enough the scene in FYEO, Connery (despite all his best qualitys doesnt seem to be "British" because of his strong Scottish Accent), Lazenby (he was a bit too chirpy i never really got into him until his final scene with tracey in the car to be honest) and Craig well he is Blonde, more angry and his sense of humour (thank god is restored properly in Skyfall) isnt as strong as the other bonds (even Dalton had some good lines and he was generaly serious) but mind you Casino Royale and Skyfall are good bond films and he does have a somewhat likableness (the scene with the receptionist in CR makes me like him because he still retains a cheekyness which always brings a smile to my face)
but to state that Brosnans films should be wiped is a personal offence and lets face it all of brosnans films is better than QOS
But then she fancies all the Bonds except Sir Rog.
He was nothing like Dalton or Craig in that sense, he lacked that Cold dark brutal killer side of Bond ( when he shot Sophie Moreacu TWINE and said "I never miss" i taught thats more like it but then ruins it by kissing her). That what annoys me about Brosnan, he had it in him to be a nasty cold bastard which Craig has in spades but Brosnan Bond was so uncool cause he's too much Genleman and not enough killer plus his Bond was Gadget Crazy not enough hand to hand brutal killer. I don't despise his films but they just lack the sheer coolness and bad assery i need for a Great Bond.
Brozza's films should be wiped out from the franchise history, and for all its faults, QoS is still far better than any of Brozza's 4 films.
Well, it's outlived its short and confusing purpose, this.
Locky lock.
