I also think this deserves it's own thread @tomjcull. I always loved the cover of YOLT, personally.

    Thanks

I took a look around and was surprised at the great fuming contention Chopping had in working with Fleming, something I hadn't previously known. The man's talent and iconic art speaks for itself, and I thank you for creating a page to show that and more off.

Very interesting indeed. I have always liked Chopping´s great work.

Sure it'd be a big plus to have a cover produced by an actual ARTIST, but really, I'm not gonna be reading the cover. b-(

For us collectors, the cover art is an essential part of the tactile experience.
Your intellectual observation that you won't be reading the cover is well noted and given your enthusiasm for the project, you may well have designed the last two covers?

Don't get me wrong, I love a good cover. My YOLT cover is probably my favourite...SANY6598.jpg
Most of my Gardner ones are just generic covers:SANY6718_zps5ed7977f.jpg

    But I still like 'em.
  • Thanks for the feedback Villiers53.

I'll create a thread and let the moderators decide!

Could anyone 'do a Chopping' on this?

I have toyed around with settings in GIMP but nothing I do to the image makes it look like a Chopping painting. I will keep trying, though.

    What's GIMP?

    Does Instagram have anything?

    I'll try Photoshop tomorrow.

GIMP is just another kind of image editing software that is out there, and it is free. It is basically like Photoshop but a lot easier to use in my opinion. I did a free trial of Photoshop and hated it.

Not sure. I'm in Vermont. I'm working on some more, it's great fun!
