Yes, I'm of course still waiting (and looking forward to) your review of John Gardner's Never Send Flowers, Wiz. Can't wait to hear your thoughts, be they good or bad! :)

I'm sure you can already predict with reasonable certainty which way Caesar's thumb will point in this particular case Draggers!!

That's what I fear, Wiz, but no matter. All I ask of you is to be honest, be yourself in the review and I know you won't let me down in that regard. Pull no punches!

Actually things are reasonably quiet at work. I might actually set about it now!

Obviously I'm using the phrase 'set about it' in the John Smeaton sense there.

Had to Google him but very brave man indeed. I was off work on holiday this week and got some more much-needed new content written/started.

I'm sorry. I should have known better but that was before I had the Internet. I see he stood as an MP in the 2009 by-election.

I know you live in the sticks old son but no internet in 2007? I can only sympathise at what must have been a grim adolescence as I remember the frustrations of waiting for dial up porn to load in the early naughties. The youth of today don't know how good they have it!

I was doing my Masters in Law back then so I had access to the Internet through that (and the library). Only finally got it in in February 2013. :)

But yes, now it is indispensable and I don't really know how I denied myself it for so long. Anyway, it's great for research for blog articles and any other matters that cross my desk. :)

And I'm 30 now so I remember well the old and slower days of the Internet when not everything under the sun was on it either. X(

What is it about? Or is that a surprise?

It's going to be about why Ian Fleming never used India as a location in any of his James Bond novels.

I'd imagine he didn't care much for their cuisine!

Probably not, though he doesn't mention that in his comments. It should be fun - mark this one down as Lesser Spotted Bondology I think. :)

What happened to the Easter article?

I'm afraid I had to delay it as it wasn't ready. Working on it now though and hope to post it this week.

Here's the title for you - a completely new idea that came to me:

The Very Last of the British Raj – Ian Fleming, James Bond and India

    Looking forward @Dragonpol

I've been absent from my own blog. Wisdom teeth removal is extremely counter productive. Also my social life is actually catching up at the moment. When I think of how much I want to write, and how I want to expand and take risks and opportunities, I remember how little time I have.

Keep up the great work. I've been glued to The Suits Of James Bond, but I'm through all of it and I'll be reading over your stuff soon.

Thanks, @JWESTBROOK. I enjoy reading your work too.

And I know all too well how little time we often get to write but I too have returned to focusing on my blog writing again. :)

I'm very pleased to announce the arrival of my comeback article (it's been a while since my last one on Anthony Burgess and TSWLM) over on The Bondologist Blog. Titled "The Madness of 'King Ernst I' in Ian Fleming’s You Only Live Twice (1964)" it can be read in full at the link below:

Please feel free to leave your comments on the article at the blog or in this specific blog thread. All feedback positive or negative is appreciated! Thanks for reading! The blog will be coming back on a firmer footing from here on in. :)

Okay, I've read it. Very thorough and in-depth. Interesting drawing the comparisons between Blofeld and the Henry VIII syndrome. Much to think over. Very well written and thought out.

Thanks for that. As a Law graduate it struck me one day how much the Blofeld of the You Only Live Twice novel was like someone suffering from the "Henry VIII Syndrome'. Sadly I couldn't find any mention of the syndrome online but I do recall it from my Criminal Law lectures!

I just want to check with blog readers here if the screen is wobbling from side to side on this new blog article? A friend of mine has told me that it is doing this with him.

I read it, too. You are a bright chap.

PS The page is a little broad for my screen.

    Thanks, @Thunderfinger!

Were some of the words cut off?

My PC screen is very broad so I forget about everyone else's! :D
