    I believe Rampling palled around with Methuselah before The Flood.

    Charlotte Rampling to be the next Bond Girl?
    http://en.mediamass.net/people/charlotte-rampling/james-bond.html

    She played a "M-esque" character in the thriller CLEANSKIN with Sean "006" Bean.

    Wow, these guys must be huge fans of hers! They also say the Time's person of the 2014 and the highest paid actress in the world... not joking, scroll down the page 8-}

    Yeah, judging by the rest of the site and tone of the articles, I'd say this is a joke webpage meant for pulling legs and poking fun.

    This is one great nominee for Strangest Bond 24 Rumor in the forthcoming MI6 Awards. What a load of...

    And the stupidest rumour too.

    the story is likely false but if it were true three things I'd like to point out

    1. she is still vastly attractive
    2. She could play the villain (the property of a lady as the title)
    3. it's the internet don't believe everything you read

    But should we believe this? ;-)

    It is false. It's one of the numerous satire sites attempting to ride off the back of The Onion, with awful results.

    While she's been brought up, I loved her in 'Cleanskin,' and do think she is still somewhat attractive for her age.

    Wow- I'm surprised, but glad to hear Charlotte Rampling is the new Bond girl :O :-bd

    And in related news, Bond24's title has been confirmed:

    <a href="http://film.thedigitalfix.com/protectedimage.php?image=DaveFoster/themother_r1pack.jpg">http:\\www.bbc.co.uk\news\bond-24-will-be-called-the-mother-2.html</a>;

    This actually has possibilities. Imagine a spider of an old crone, cloistered away in her remote fastness, directing her acolytes to do her evil bidding. Imagine, in other words, a sort of female Blofeld (Blofelda?). I could get on board with this as being far more interesting and successful than the beautiful young Marceau as a villainess.

    That would work beautifully, and be in spirit with Fleming's creations such as Rosa Klebb and Irma Bunt. But don't you give anybody here any idea about a female Blofeld! As if changing his age and race was not bad enough! I know you do not mean literally, but since the idea has been suggested before, be careful.

    Oh and on a side note, I read some magazines that considered Rosa Klebb and Irma Bunt Bond girls, because they were women in a Bond movie. Stupid, but it may explain why such stupid rumor shows up.

    Don't get me wrong, I love Charlotte Rampling, she's my favourite actress but this is just bizarre.

    If it was for a villainess it would make sense. But a Bond girl, it is downright ridiculous.

    Good call. Yes, I could picture her as a head villainess with her own lackey.

    http://www.ign.com/articles/2014/06/09/downton-abbey-actress-joanne-froggatt-reportedly-up-for-bond-24-role this rumor from a month ago is now making the rounds leading me to believe she is indeed cast as the main bond girl.

    I wouldn't take it too seriously. Rumours have a life of their own. And Downtown Abbey being popular, of course its cast will be rumoured to be in a Bond movie.

    A 69 year old Bond girl? Nobody complained when M filled that role in Skyfall.

    Is Saida of TMWTGG returning to the series again then?!

    Yes, stuff like this always repeats itsself even in the better sources. It would make me really sad, too. A Bond film needs a beautiful woman for the guys to water their mouthes. ;;) This is just girl next doorish.

    Yeah, rumors definitely have a life of their own. A rumor is created by someone because they "heard something" from their "source," but the rumor dies down until someone else sees it, and once that is reposted, everyone else seems to pick it up, too.

    Somehow I don't see her being cast.

    How about Angela Merkel as a more mature Bond lady?
