    ....she was the sacrificial lamb not intended as the main. Eva hadore screen time but wasn't that traditional role. Really didn't have one ...

    Basically all I'm trying to say is that the main Bond girl doesn't have to be very well-known. A different example is Casino Royale, I knew more films starring Caterina Murino (Solange) than Eva Green (Vesper Lynd), so that shows that just because Lea has been cast in a supposed secondary role, that the main Bond girl has to be more "popular".

    The term Bond woman is so obnoxiously pedantic and it's political correctness that never had any mileage. Bond girl isn't meant to be offensive, I find it to be more a term of endearment in categorising female cast members in the series.

    Sophie Marceau vs. Denise Richards
    Halle Berry vs. Rosamund Pike
    Eva Green vs. Caterina Murino
    Olga Kurylenko vs. Gemma Arterton
    Naomie Harris vs. Bérénice Marlohe

    All I am saying is that in the recent Bond films the Bond girl with the bigger role was always played by the more accomplished actress. For example Olga Kurylenko is far from being A-list but in 2008 she was more well-known than Gemma Arterton.

    I have some questions regarding the recent news that Léa Seydoux will play a "femme-fatale" in Bond 24: Could Léa's age determine her role? Do people consider her too young for Craig if she plays a love interest? Or do they think her age is fine? What kind of dynamic are people expecting if she plays an enemy?

    I find it hard to believe that a woman whose most famous role is a maid will become a Bond girl.

    Emily Blunt seems reasonable, fits the description perfectly. She also recently appeared in "Edge of Tomorrow" and definitely could come across as someone equal to Craig.

    Posted by a friend in James Bond-magasinet (from Norway). He is in the MIPCOM of Cannes where entities like MGM or Sony are in some kind of market. Read more (if you can): http://www.archivo007.com/index.php/noticias/bond-24/1568-primer-poster-de-bond-24

    Great news. I tried to recreate the poster:

    Could Olga/Camille pass as a Bond girl? He was actually never with her anytime in QoS. She was more of an ally. But because of her looks it makes her a Bond girl?

    It's just the CR poster with Bond 24 slapped on it. Still, very nice.

    I haven't been here for a while, so please excuse me if this has been mentioned before, but apparently Tamzin Outhwaite has been approached?. I'm not sure if this link works.

    I believe we have learned that that particular website just spits our names in order to get hits on their website; nothing substantial at all. They change names almost daily. At least I think that is the one that does that.

    I certainly didn't see that coming!!! :-O What a brilliant appointment if true? Dave Bautista as the Henchman! Genius! What an epic face off that could give us!? Gary Powell i am sure would do us proud with some full on fist fights between the two of them!

    Will await to see if it is true like the rest of you? I also donot believe for one second that "Hinx" is the name for the henchman either. We all know how EON try to keep everything watertight on a new movie. If they were going to do this then release all the character names and be done with it!

    It's a satirical website. Search for any famous female celebrity and there will be a Bond Girl rumour. Also that the same female celebrity will be pregnant, engaged, married, dead and have a poorly dog.

    Also....Hinx? Is that Jinx's long lost brother? :P

    With Dave Bautista as his onscreen nemesis, you can believe Craig will up his game physically.

    Well, if Roger Moore had Tania Roberts in AVTAK...

    You know....I'm also quite excited for the fact that this is the first time in my lifetime I will see a director doing a movie back-to-back. My first ever Bond film in cinema was John Glen's "Licence To Kill". But I'm also excited to see what Sam Mendes will be doing with his 2nd film. A bit like Terence Young's 2nd? Or John Glen's 2nd Bond film? As I am a huge fan of following directors....
    --> Paul Thomas Anderson (new movie coming up, "Inherent Vice"!),
    --> Christopher Nolan,
    --> Todd Field (lovely "Little Children")
    --> Todd Solondz ("Welcome To The Dollhouse, "Happiness"),
    --> Woody Allen,
    --> Darren Aronofsky,
    --> Joel/Ethan Coen,
    --> Robert Altman ("Nashville"),
    --> Quentin Tarantino,
    --> Terrence Malick and...
    --> Stanley Kubrick....but especially...
    .....a fan of Sam Mendes filmography, I can't wait to analyze and dissect Mendes' two Bond films and compare them, theme-wise, habit-wise (Sam Mendes has a habit of...simply picking a thing or object, putting it in the movie....and then it becomes in a well-crafted way a reference to the theme or a character), with other multi-layaered movies like "American Beauty" and "Revolutionary Road".

    I read that many fans hope that Bond 24 will be very different from Bond 23, "Skyfall". But in all honesty, I hope the tone, the grittiness from "Casino Royale" and "Skyfall" will stay intact 200%. Those two Bond films had this darkness of Bond films like "Dr. No" and "From Russia With Love".

    Perhaps now Bond 24 will be more like our present-day "Thunderball"? Better locations, a classic car chase (please, don't re-invent a car chase anymore. Sam Mendes? Watch "Ronin") slightly more humour, but still a film in which Daniel Craig not forcefully becomes a '2nd Roger Moore'.

    --> I hope Sam Mendes will keep the multi-layered approach...with some nice references to today's politics.

    --> Action? Yes. But ONLY if it blends in with/supports the screenplay. The "call from fans to include more and better action" at times makes me a bit sceptical.

    --> And if Léa Seydoux plays a former love interest of 007, then I am hungry for continuity...for some nice references to Vesper Lyndt. Perhaps, an emotional Bond in which he looks at some pictures from him with Vesper in Venice.

    --> Following that remark, I loved the fully rounded, fully developed complexities of the characters from Craig's Bond film. If it is Vesper Lyndt, "M", Silva or even Hinx: Please don't make them pastiche! Make them real and complex where possible.

    --> And let's hope the villain, the syndicate he's working for,...has his future laid out in Bond 25.

    So far, with the latest additions to Sam Mendes' crew (Hoyte van Hoytema, Lee Smith) and cast (Lea Seydoux, Dave Bautista), I am already a happy little fanboy :-).

    Someone mentioned Rose Byrne. She would be an excellent choice. Great looking, smart, good actress. Can bring some attitude too.
    Like Seydoux, Byrne is an actress, that I immediately took notice of, upon first viewing.
    If I see either of their names in a film, good chance I will check it out, even if its outside my usual thriller comfort genre.

    And if Byrne was considered for Vesper, well here's a chance to put her to work on the new Bond.

    Hinx? What an unoriginal and cliched name. Sounds too much like Jinx too. I know that this is a name that Fleming may have used in his novels back in the 50's and 60's but after all these years, such a name has become too cliched. Don't like this name at all.

    So, what are we looking at? More humour than in Skyfall/CR - not good, throw away lines - not good, Moneypenny back in the field - not good and a henchman named Hinx - not good.

    Mr. Kil is a more inspired name than Hinx to be honest.

    I'm cautiously optimistic for Bond 24, but I'm fairly certain it won't top Casino Royale or Skyfall for me...

    That's actually a little better.

    One thing I'm looking forward to in regard to 007 24 is the supposed skiing chase.

    Slightly optimistic about this after being hugely letdown by Skyfall.

    Still not sure about the rumour of Moneypenny's back in the field story, nor am I enthusiastic about the new Q. But I'm willing to give it a chance.

    Obviously Hinx is a working name and not the actual one. Otherwise it's a good bit of casting if true.
