Some people think this is useless stuff. And they say that they know as much as we know. But guys, do we know a cross on a heart is typical Austrian architecture? Well, at least for older Austrian alpine houses? It refers to catholicism, and is commonly used on Austrian homes.
Having said that, I think it is kind of safe to rule out that Austria will double for Norway. In Bond 24 this house will not be set in Norway.
But that's a mighty fine poster. Jeez almost had a heart attack.
People will get heart attacks. This doesn't belong in this thread.
(although, some of the younger fans may think it's the return of Octopussy.)
Wishful thinking is sometimes contagious. I love the art too and wished it was a true poster. Although nobody but the fans would get it.
First thing that comes to my mind: the sigil of Stannis Baratheon in GoT. As there are many former actors from Bond movies in the TV series, maybe Stephen Dillane will play a role? Okay, wishful thinking.
Second thing that comes to my mind: the armories of the comtes de Bleuville, maybe? Again, massive wishful thinking.
Fine, fine work @Marketto007. Lazy media picking the rumour in 5... 4... 3...
I mean the heart on top of the church does look like Stannis' flaming heart. I was not referring to SPECTRE's squid, which yes could look like the Greyjoys kraken.
I actually liked Patrick Macnee and the Duran Duran song
Yeah, sure he would have been. But it will never be.
:-O :-O B-)
You mean, you actually understood, was Bane was saying? In my book he says: "I am Gotham's rectedy!" And I know, there is no such word in the English language, but he does NOT say "I am Gotham's reckoning!"
;) :bz :ar! O:-)
And yes PSH would have made a great Bond villain.
I'm still sad Philip Seymour Hoffman is not alive anymore :-(. I mentioned him frequently as a possible Bond villain.
But what do we do now then? I'm slightly getting used to the idea of Chiwetel Ejiofor (1 Oscar nomination, 3 Golden Globe nominations) as villain. But what about these actors? Which of these actors could be announced by Michael & Barbara on December 6th? Realistically spoken?
:
--> Daniel Day-Lewis (3 Oscar wins, 2 Golden Globe wins)
--> Christoph Waltz (2 Oscar wins, 2 Golden Globe wins)
--> John Malkovich (2 Oscar nominations, 3 Golden Globe nominations)
--> William Dafoe (2 Oscar nominations, 1 Golden Globe nomination)
--> Michael Shannon (1 Oscar nomination)
--> Michael Fassbender (1 Oscar nomination, 2 Golden Globe nominations)
8-} Sorry @Ludovico, my bad! You are absolutely right, the "Sacred Heart" symbol, just like the one shown on top of the building, is usually burning like this:
While reading the aSoIaF books I always found the similarity amusing.
I meant he was verbose, not understandable.
Me too. Although to be honest I liked the idea from the start. He interests me because he's not the obvious choice. I can see him doing a Ledger and blowing people away.
I hope Fassbender will eventually play a villain just so that he won't ever be cast as Bond.
Great piece of work Marketto! =D>
I couldn't agree less and I don't understand your reasoning in the slightest, if I'm honest.
For me it's a case of casting someone different, an unknown entity in this world, or a rent-a-villain. You do realise people don't have to look like themselves on film? Ledger played in 10 things I hate About You and then delivered the definitive Joker for a generation. Mark Strong is... Mark Strong.
Sorry, I just really, really don't get the logic.
A not so obvious choice......why does that interest you?
I don't get your logic either. I mean.....I forget to mention Mark Strong. But he can perhaps blow you away as well. If an actor needs to be cast because "he's not an obvious choice" then I don't find that a very good decision either.
IMO an actor needs to have a few movies under his belt that gives away his talents for certain characters or roles. And for me that usually is an acting CV with gravita.
Yes, I fully believe that Ejiofor could play a wunderful Le Chiffre-esque villain. But until then we don't have a lot of reference for similar villain-esque roles for Ejiofor. It's simply put a more risky choice for me. It could work, but it could also be slightly disappointing.
Also, and that's very important to note, it is a fact that the screenplay writers actually wrote the script with Javier Bardem in mind. It means that from a very early moment they wanted to go into a certain direction with the villain. The result worked for me.
A Knight's Tale
Ned Kelly
Brokeback Mountain
You'd be surprised what actors can do. I'm assuming you've never worked with them, given your reverence for CV's, awards and hype? They aren't cast by fans. They're cast by story tellers. CV's with gravitas.
Mod: Swearing removed
What is it with your......demeanor that so obviously shows irritation at times.
Mod: Swearing removed
I am saying I am having reservations about him, that is all, not that I am deadly opposed to him. I very well know you can change someone's appearance in a movie, heck, especially in a Bond movie. They did masterful work with Javier Bardem's face. But Bardem's face is malleable, I think, like say Boris Karloff's face. Ejiofor? I am not convinced yet.
And I am not a fan of Mark Strong.
Fair enough. Glad to know you're not a fan of Strong. He seems like a decent bloke, who I'd enjoy a pint with, but too obvious to be a Bond villain. He's in a Jaguar advert predicated on the idea of British villains, he's that synonymous with the notion of playing the antagonist.
