She isn't. We have known it for a long time that the Scandinavian Bond girl (now changed to French) is the secondary one. The main Bond girl will be British.
To follow up my latest post.....don't forget that Dame Helen Mirren herself said, during the red carpet premiere of "Red 2", that she would love to play a Bond villain. That news was even featured on our own beloved MI6-HQ-website :-):

I don't really @PanchitoPistoles :-). It can't be always "fun and games". The producers certainly don't think "Ooowh my, we need to leak another acator, otherwise the Bond fans start terrorising our offices in Pinewood" hehe.
Sometimes, like it was the case with Javier Bardem, a lot of screentests are simply not necessary. The screenplaywriters then make the role/screenplay fit around the wishes of the actor. In the case of Bardem it worked perfectly.
Moreover, people tend to forget that certain famed Hollywood actors were really impressed by "Skyfall", especially the role of the villain. So I especially think for that role Mendes & Co. will not have had any casting problems.
Agreed
We don't even know if he was seriously considered. And it might have been the other way round: they might have thought Ejiofor was not right after all for the particular role of the villain, after the rewrites.

Not sure if this has been posted.
He's just got sour grapes because he lost out to a role he thought was going to on going and pay for his pension.
The guy is a legend but his constant sniping about Bond just shows he's bitter about his loss.
Yeah John, because DAD was the pinnacle of cinema...
That pretty much sums it up for me. I wouldn't even put Q in my CV if I was John Cleese. Let alone remind people that I was in DAD.
I read this article this morning in the metro via Zite (great app). But really....I fully agree here. John Cleese obviously hasn't seen SF yet....
Indeed! I have to start planning how I'll watch it in case I'm at work at the time (highly probable) :-?
That will be the case with "Bond 24" as well @Jake24 :-). December 6th will be the date of the official kick-off press conference, so officially it'll be also the very first day of shooting. If I remember correctly, back in 2011 the kick-off press conference was one month earlier, November 3rd 2011. The actors then also received their call sheets and shooting schedules. Funnily enough, journalists never ask about these kind of things....
So far it seems that both EON Productions and SONY/MGM manage to keep the production of Bond 24 in more secrecy than back in 2011 during pre-production of "Skyfall". Back in August/September the title "Skyfall" was already more or less leaked by checking domain registrations via MarkMonitor. Also Javier Bardem was quite early confirmed as the lead villain.
I think there's also a practical and financial aspect to opt for filming in Europe. There's less bureaucracy in countries like Austria. Filming permits are being given out somewhat faster. And on top of that you don't have expensive travelling costs, like those for South Africa and India (Skyfall). Eventually these locations were not chosen, due to problems with shooting permits. And then you've already spent quite a lot of money on location scouting.
For me personally, I think, since CR and CR, it's also about cinematography...how the locations are being shot on film. I loved the rather moody, darker, rainy atmosphere in Skyfall. And although many locations were doubled, it really worked.
Be prepared for an even "colder" experience in Bond 24 ;-). Although I think a wintery film can be made very "warm" and "romantic" too, like cinematographer Michael Reed did with OHMSS.
Personally, I think it's a bit of an "empty" choice if we need to have a non-European exotic location, because it's part of the formula. It really depends on the screenplay too. It has to make sense. Also, as I was very astonished by the wunderful CGI-effects in Skyfall, similar things can be done with Bond 24 too.
I was also very impressed with the CGI in Skyfall and I only recently learned of the Komodo dragon being complete CGI (which kind of makes sense, considering how dangerous they are). So relating back to the title, has anyone done some research to see if any domain names have been leaked?
[/quote]
Yes, I did actually. See page 142 of this topic :-). But....someone really has to come up first with a rumoured title....leak the title, before you can do a proper research via MarkMonitor. And that's still not the case.
One thing you basically can rule out, based on my little reasearch, is that the four last remaning Fleming titles will not be used. So it won't be:
--> "Risico"
--> "The Property Of A Lady"
--> "The Hildebrand Rarity", and
--> "007 In New York"
It is possible to find the registered domains of Sony for 2014, but if you want to do that you need to be a paid subscriber to a domain check-up website. No Bond fan in here has offered to do that yet. Apparently, the desire to get to know the title is not thát high :-P.
Not exactly. The first domain registration for "Skyfall" was leaked in early August 2011. Then later, in September/October.....someone did a proper research and looked up all variations for "Skyfall". In any case.....EON this time certainly know how to keep things secret :S
Oh, really? I hadn't realized it was that early. Well I guess the producers have learned from their mistakes in terms of secrecy surrounding the title.
