True...the WSJ is the second-hand source on this. Thank you for the clarification. Regardless, it appears there will be a presser next week.
A paper whose topic is about the producers planning to bluff during the press conference is not common at all, IMO. And there are no way to deal with it I'm afraid, once you're called a liar in advance...
As I wrote more than once earlier today, they could easily talk about Bond 24 for hours without revealing anything about the plot if they really wanted to. Why can't they talk about the development of the script (Logan leaving, then them hiring Purwis and Wade again), the story behind Mendes declining and then accepting the job, the casting process etc?
We all know that. Nobody is forcing you to come here and read the comments...
But why would they? Only people on here are bothered about such trivialities, press just want gossip and I could understand Mendes wanting to flip them the bird. I'd rather they cracked on with production than bored us all with the minutiae of script development. That comes later.
Of course, last time out, they denied Whishaw was Q, Eve was Moneypenny and John Logan had been hired to write Bond 24 and Bond 25.
I´d be glad if they didn´t hold any press conference. Press conferences are justified in the 80s before the internet and when a new Bond actor is introduced.
And let's not forget the rest: Is Blofeld in it? So you say Blofeld is not in it, but then again you said Eve was not Moneypenny so... is Blofeld in it? Okay, so does Waltz's character have a scar, a shaved head or something? Not that I am wondering if he plays Blofeld or anything. How about a cat? Are cats featured in any way in the movie?
Absabloodyexactly.
oh well in that case...
either Babs or Michael: "We're not going to go into details about what did or didn't happen in regards to who worked on the script. John, Niel and Robert worked really hard to deliver a terrific story, and we are proud of the script we have right now."
:D
"And I also forgot to mention, this time it's personal for Bond"
I just simply don't understand why some people complain about other commenters taking Bond 24 too seriously or leaving too many comments. I could not care less about Dr. Who but I'm not going to post a comment like "It's only a TV show, people" in the Dr. Who thread...
:)) See Pistoles, the people here can do it in their sleep.
Cue the lead actress:
"I was attracted to the role because she really seems more like a Bond woman and not a Bond girl. More like Bond's equal."
The producers are useless when talking to the press. That's why I would politely ask them not to attend the press conference.
I didn't complain about you. All I said was "It's only a movie people" and you automatically assumed I was targeting you. Relax.
I assumed you were targeting everybody who posted since marketto wrote about the photo call. I just finished my daily meditation, I could not be more relaxed. :bz
Imagine if you will that we're all on a bus journey, making our way to a fantastic holiday some distance away. You sometimes come across as the kid who constantly says, "Are we there yet, why aren't we there yet? But, last time we went it was quicker than this. When will we be there?!" It can get tedious.
For others, who've taken the trip many times, they enjoy the view and observe the morphing landscape with each new journey.
just easing the tension
This is exactly why there should have been several Bond 24 news related topics from the beginning instead of just one.
I am completely calm. Being calm and talking about things in detail are not mutually exclusive. And when I wrote my initial comments about being worried of the movie being possibly delayed or maybe even abandoned, I was obviously not being 100% serious. There is no chance in hell they would completely abandon Bond 24 with pre-production nearly finished, sets build in Austria and preparations undarway in Morocco. Anyway, I know that Germans are always very serious so I understand you not completely understanding my tongue-in-cheek comments.
I even posted this photo: http://a.mytrend.it/inte/2014/10/544515/o.258942.jpg How is it not obvious that I was at least partially joking?
I'd love to know the title and composer. And rest of the cast. But I'm being patient. Press conference per se is far from necessary, for me anyway. Photocall at least is something nice to look forward to.
