Hackers simply retrieve information may it be extremely vague or not. They didn't screen cap emails, they stole 0101010101 worth of information.
Are you insane? They have a finished screenplay and started filming two days ago. There is NO WAY they will rewrite the script.
Seriously??? This article is coming from CNN and dozens of other sites have posted articles about these leaks. It's not a hoax.
Don't take things so literally mate. I was making a tongue in cheek comment given the obviously unexpected leak of material facts in a multi-million $$ movie, the plot of which has, to date, been guarded like Fort Knox.
Of course they aren't going to rewrite now. That's a given.
Even more so....I was just checking news on MI6-HQ, regarding the massive budget and the fights that have been going on between on one side MGM and on the other side Barbara Broccoli/Ami Pascal.
But please.....you easily forget reading that this news item contains spoilers, EVEN when there's a slight warning. I accidentally clicked the article...and THERE I READ IT. Massive spoilers!! @JamesPage ? Why not putting behind brackes, at the start of the article [MASSIVE SPOILER] in capitals. Now I am spoiled by certain scenes X(. Al my fun regarding SPECTRE starts to diminish....
I truly hate those hackers. The CIA needs to hunt those basterds down. But also, we really really need to warn more prominently if there are spoilers ahead. And this especially goes for the chief editor of MI6-HQ.com.
So @JamesPage? Not like this:
SPECTRE is 'massively over budget' according to Sony email leaks (spoilers)...
But like this!:
[BIG PLOT SPOILER AHEAD] SPECTRE is 'massively over budget' according to Sony email leaks...
By the way, for what's worth it....and it's already a bit too late for me? We now know for sure that we need to admire Barbara Broccoli more. By jolly, she's a fighter. We now also know how much influence MGM has in the production budget, and how much they want to cut costs, by opting for more studio-filming instead of real on location shooting. Hence, a lot of doubling and not on-location shooting in Skyfall.
At least Barbara is fighting her guts off to get REAL locations in the film...for us fans. Hail to Barbara (and certainly not to MGM)!
I am not referring to those but to the original poster. The others are not a hoax. Thanks for trying to be insulting.
Agreed fully @Gustav_Graves. I can only imagine what a mess Bond would be by now if not for the Broccoli family and EON. They've done this countless times (stood up for the franchise's integrity) in the face of studio accountants attempts to lower the quality in the face of budget pressures. My respect goes out to her and her father before her.
The Sony leak has caught up with both SPECTRE and SKYFALL. And in all honesty @Pierce2Daniel....I don't give a shit. I always stood up for more geopolitical relevance in Bond films. I actually love it. But the Sony hack is really scary. This is going to far.
And because I'm motivated enough, because I admire the Bond franchise, I will boycot these SonyLeaks articles completely. They are damaging for the Bond franchise, damaging for the Bond fan community. And I welcome everyone who wants to join in boycotting such articles, that inevitably create UNFAIR and ILLEGAL spoilers.
Spoilers are OK for me, but only if we fans do it via trusted and ethically entrusted sources.....not from sources from criminals.
Yep, I agree whole-heartedly with this.
Indeed. Man, there's already a "SPECTRE" glooming over us, watching us.... :|
If this keeps up, she may have to go, because I don't think she can have credibility in the industry if all the personal conversations get out about others in the business.
I am curious how you feel about Quantum and Spectre both returning in bond 24?
Why are you asking? I am happy to see SPECTRE again in a Bond film and I'm ok with Quantum's return as long as it only has a minor presence in the movie. I simply want the movie either to completely stand on it's own or to be a sequel to Skyfall and Skyfall only. Obviously, if Quantum is back it means there will be some references to the events of CR and QOS. and that's OK as long as anyone who has only seen Skyfall can understand and enjoy the movie.
Though with announcement of Quantum returning and the addition of Spectre I am honestly more excited about Spectre then I was about Skyfall..
I now have a general question Spectre is not only the name of the orgnizastion but also of Chapter 5 of Ian Fleming's Thunderball novel Does this mean the Chapter title's are now fair game? Anyone want to comment on this.
Catherine Deneuve, Isabelle Huppert, Charlotte Rampling still interpret sensual icons in advertising campaigns. And today 50-year-old women are genetically different from the 50-yer-old ladies from one or two generations ago. In other words, it’s finally clear a mature woman doesn’t loose her charm, she doesn’t stop being a female just because of her age. Actually she is female and sensual inasmuch adult. - Monica Bellucci for Vanity Fair Italy (December 2014)
I think chapter titles are fair game but it obviously depends if the title fits with what the story of the film is. The Craig era has taken many risks and EON have tinkered around with its own tradition with how they make the films and that definitely looks set to continue, such as casting a 50 year old Bond girl. That's a pretty big deal and really widens the net of casting potential actresses. There are so many new and interesting changes that the series is adopting and it's easy to conclude that Eon shouldn't have a problem with going for chapter titles to name their movies if they so wish to.
Excellent points.
Got me thinking about EON in general and how much creative control they have, along with the directors and Craig, and how they are all stepping up and exercising that control.
It's a great thing, because I'm sure that if MGM or Sony had control over Bond, Belluci would never have been cast (too old,.....past it.... etc.), nor would so many of the other great actors that have appeared over Craig's run. Mickelson? Almaric? Giannini? They would probably, like most large studios, have demanded someone more 'bankable'.
It's a great time to be a Bond fan.
Yippie Kai Yea, Monica Lovers!
;)
Thanks.
it most definitely is a great time to be a Bond fan and we need to savour it. This whole hacking business has apparently revealed issues EON had/has been facing with regards to budget and creative control from what little I gathered and I'm worried about Bond's future. I'm nervous at the possibility the successors to the Broccoli/Wilson team may not have the fortitude Cubby, Harry, Babs and Michael had/have. I really don't understand the logic of some people and when it comes to Bond there's more than enough history to mine to see what works and what doesn't. SPECTRE has to really be a colossal success and my respect for Babs has shot up astronomically especially when one remembers she was the one who fought to make Craig's casting happen.
By the way, a couple days ago a rewatched a great Sam Mendes interview from 2012 where he said that Barbara particularly is very keen on getting further into Bond as a person. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J7LkmwxB_hY (around the 24 minute mark) Could it be possible that Michael G. Wilson is not completely on board with further exploring Bond's past in Spectre and that's why he stayed away from the press conference? Yeah, I realise that this is very wild speculation. :)
This film is shaping up to be one of the best IMO.
Well said @bondjames and @doubleoego! I mean even Barbara Broccoli herself could pass as a Bond Girl. She is stunning and full of confidence.
Have EON always had this kind of creative control? I am wondering how much they had during the Brosnan era. SP will be a very important Bond film I think, and I'm very excited for the Bond Girls of future films.
Thank you @ggl007. In the link below, there's a video (begin in 1:38) where we can see the action. ;)
